good 2d system for a animation studio beeing born...

Hi there,
i'm looking forward to establish an animation studio in Poland. Can anybody let me know what (in their opinion) is the best software for a studio. i've checked Cambridge Animation Systems -> Animo 6.0 and ToonBoom --> Harmony. is there anything else on the market worth consideration ?

shouldn't you use whatever your comfortable and familiar with?,i don't see why you should go with a paticular piece of software just because its popular in other studios....

correct me if i'm wrong people....

Noob's right. Figure out what features and capabilities are important to your production, and buy the package that offers them.

another thing you should look at is training facilities available to you locally and tech support.

even if people prefer a system over another its a question of how many animators you plan to employ and if they have access to software or you will have to train them etc.

both Animo and Harmony are very sophisticated and expensive programs. I think Harmony would be a more likely choice because its much more expansive then Animo but i know a lot of proffesionals who use Animo as well.

you will have to do an evaluation yourself really.

Maybe you should have this discussion with some of the animators you are or plan on employing, or do you have some outside funding and jobs already in the loop before you have an employee base? In which case seek guidance with your market base.

thank all You guys for comments. the truth is from my POV there is no real market of "true" animation here in Poland. As for the support of the software the nearest support for both amino and harmony is something in UK ;-)
and i do not think that many pepole that i could hire at start would know those programs.

but after some thoughts, as i do not animate (or draw) myself, for the begining of my studio i will use Flash for simple but content rich stuff. the basic principal od that idea is that ---> there are animated shows in US that are (as they say...) are done in Flash and they are good (my pov). and the other fact is that Flash is at the moment the most familiar (due to the web usage) piece of software that allows to animate.

Yes it is simple, Yes it is vector based, yes You won't do "real 2d stuff" right now with it, but I think that for the start it will do.
