flash animation for tv broadcast

hello wise guys

can anybody advice the procedure how to convert macromedia flash movies for pal television. pls mention the frame size, rate and format. Its urgent.

regards

correct dimensions for TV

hey there,
for PAL TV Production you have to use 720x576. This is because you are working with square pixels on your computer, but TV resolution is 768x567 and horizontal stretched pixels (i don´t know the correct term).
So if you would set your project to 768x576 AND square pixels, the picture would look stretched on TV screen.
Framerate is 25 fps, like DSB said use uncompressed QT or AVI for output.
Also be aware of the "safe frame" and the "title safe" area, which means some of your picture will be cut at the borders, because of the rounded shape of your TV-screen.
Hope this helps, please excuse the awful english :)

a tail question

thanks Phacker and DSB for your wise solution and reference. Am I right with 720x576 for PAL output ? Or it will be 768x576 or 720x486 ?

Well, PAL is 25 fps, so that's probably going to need to be your frame rate.

720x486 is generally used as standard broadcast dimensions, 72 dpi.

Set up your movies with these settings (unless anyone disagrees), and then export them as uncompressed Quicktimes or AVIs. Make sure you have lots of available disc space.
