The animation work field

I think that this Thread will be of interest for many of you.

I would like to know which ones of the frequent visitors to the forum are, right now, working in the animation industry. Wath are you doing? For how long now? How did you get your jobs? etc...

I know that Animated Ape is working on "foster`s house...", but that`s it.

So, if you want to...

well im working on a few shorts right now. i finished an episode of 2d for an outside producer three months ago. now we are finishing another one. and have two shorts in preproduction. after which we will look for some work.
been doing this since June last year.

Well, I used to be an animator on "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends." I've since moved on and am now a lead animator on "Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi" at Renegade Animation studio. Before these two jobs I animated on "Kid Notorious" for Comedy Central. That was my first broadcast animation job. Befor that I toiled away at several internet studios animating two to five minute shorts for the web. This is where I learned Flash, and most of my animation techniques. I went to school at the Academy of Art College, now University, and majored in Traditional Animation, and Illustration. Currently I am learning animation in Maya at AnimationMentor.com and I'm hoping to break into the world of Feature Animation.

did you ever meet Bob Evans Ape?

Yep. He would come into the studio now and then. He also invited the crew to his house "Woodland" to watch movies. Beautiful, magical place.
