Holiday Animation Gifts

Hello.

So far the best animation DVD I have seen for the Holidays are the one dollar DVD's in the toy section at Walmart.

They have the Fleischer Brothers' SUPERMAN cartoons 8-10 cartoons with all the classic films all on one DVD for $1.00 U.S.

They also have Betty Boop DVD's.

Also, if you happen to be cruising Luxembourg- there is this great Cartoon Shop near the center of the old marketplace. Go to the southwest corner of the Old market place and turn right- walk about a block and its on your right.

They have little figures and some really awesome larger size Tex Avery 's Wolfy and Red wooden scultpures. The have Chuck's Roadrunner and Wyle E., too.

Thanks:D

I have the Image disc of the Fleischer Brothers' Superman cartoons. It was about $10, is good quality, and has all of them. (These are among my all time favorites, BTW). I also have some Goodtimes Popeye discs, one of which has an incredibly cool 50s education film/tour of Fleischer Studios in FLA. It's just a little 8 or 10 minute thing, but I've probably watched it 10 times-- now THAT's what I call a render farm!

HAH! Funny you should say that, I picked them all up today at target for $1 each too! What a deal!

You have not seen them yet, have you? I buy a dollar DVD last year and it was a complete waste of my dollar.

What I really, really, really need is a hole punch. Any suggestions?

you lucky so and so's... I want a wacom cintiq, sniff, but I'll be really happy if I get "Draw the Looney Tunes: The Warner Bros. Character Design Manual", found it on a comic book shop over here, a bit pricey at 55 euros

Thanks for the links, but ack! too expensive, much too expensive. I guess I'm better off buying prepunched paper ...

Man, are there ever some incredibly horrible Betty Boop DVD out there. I've seen some that NOBODY, animation fan or not, would ever want to sit through.

I feel lucky to have the DVD's I've found. One is a set of Betty Boop, Little Lulu and Little Audrey published by GoodTimes. It's definately head and shoulders above most of what's out there.

Last year I also bought a two DVD set of Betty Boop cartoons published by DELTA (whoever they are).

All the classic cartoons are stomped, trashed, abused, exploited and otherwise molested these days. It sucks, but if you can find a good set, hang on to it!
