Animation Guild Computer Lab still available

Well folks, summer is over, but the Animation Guild computer lab in Los Angeles is still at your disposal, with air conditioned comfort for these scorching autumn days. The hours for the members' free computer lab are as follows:

Mondays.............2 pm to 9 pm
Tuesdays............2 pm to 6 pm
Wednesdays........2 pm to 6 pm
Thursdays...........2 pm to 6 pm
Saturdays...........Noon to 4 pm
Fridays & Sundays...Closed

The lab monitor can help with most of your questions, and offer advice on how to use a particular application. We have a core group of steady lab users who may be able to help with your software questions. There's also an internet connection to consult online resources. There may be a website you haven't thought of yet that we can point you to.

We are also gathering some guest speakers for the Fall and Winter, so if there is someone you'd like to hear from, or if you would like to give a talk on how you use computer technology, please let us know.

Please call 818-766-7151 or email roskotron@hotmail.com for more details.

Thanks again,

Fall Lab Happenings

Hello again, since it has turned out to be a cool, grey Autumn here in Los Angeles, we ask computer savvy Guild members to come visit us. Please help us out with Photoshop, Flash, Maya or anything you know. The only reward we can offer is the knowledge we can share with you (and maybe a few munchies we have stashed here in the lab), and knowing you're helping other Guild members. Or stop in if you need help with your projects.

Plus we still have programs like Shake and the Adobe Creative Suite you may not have at home. We also have the demo version of Z-Brush.

Contact roskotron@hotmail.com or drop in at 4729 Lankershim Blvd. in North Hollywood 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Mon. - Thurs. and Noon 'til 4 p.m. Saturdays. Open Late Monday eves. too.

Thanks again as we hurtle towards the Holidays.

Special Thanks

We also want to give a special thanks to all our guest speakers who volunteered their time at the TAG Lab in 2005:

Ed Olson, Flash, and how to use a database and the internet to run an artist's business.

Peter Newbauer, Photoshop.
John Park, Maya.
Allen Stoval, DVD Authoring.
Rich Wilkie, Flash.

We are lining up guests for 2006 so we can hit the ground running. If there is anyone special you'd like to give a demo at the Lab, or if you can volunteer yourself, email us at roskotron@hotmail.com, and we'll try to get that person for you!

Best in 2006!
Ken Roskos
