Spike TV animation

Hey guys. I am new here. My name is Justin Roiland, I wrote and produced a cartoon called "House of Cosbys" that can be seen on www.channel101.com
I am also a TV producer and I'm currently working on a new untitled Spike TV varietys show about video games. It is a comedy show.
It is my job to track down some very affordable animation houses/ studios/ or teams.
This show will contain a lot of animation, and we have a very small budget. My team is going to take on some of the work, but we will need other good/ fast people to outsource some of this stuff to as well.

If you know of anyone please P.M. me, or e-mail me at Comicsacrifice@aol.com

Thank you

Well if you need a fast cheap and dirty animator to work in house in LA or remotely from LA.....I have worked in games for more than 10 years and have been animating characters for a while. For cinema stuff and games. I have experience in Max and Maya.

I hope your Spike show goes well. :)

Happy Trails,
Eric HEdman

Hey welcome on! I've been a huge fan of "House of Cosby's" since episode 1. I'd love to see the 'final' epsidode that you were rumored to have shown at the channel101 screening. I tell everyone I can to check out your show.

What programs or styles are you working in for the Spike show?

Anyway, glad to have you here. I just wish that Curious Cosby would have the chance to be avenged...

Producing solidily ok animation since 2001.

As a gamer i am quite skeptical of this. The spike tv game awards were for everybody BUT gamers.

hopefully you guys wont follow a trendy pop culture fad aspect. Ill be eager to get a look at it none the less. it does sound like a nice concept.

are you doing 3d or 2d animation?

Hey, I'm a bit concerned as to how the show will turn out as well. I am the only hard core gamer on staff, so.. who knows.

We are looking for all 2D stuff. Flash, After Effects, and possibly Maya.
As far as the scope of the animated segments, it will be tough to pin down until we get script approval from the network. I am looking for a small team, who is fast, good, and has proven to be capable of working and delivering on a tight schedule. We do have a ridiculously small budget on this show, so i am hoping to find another team similar to my own (who did HOC and rock gods of rock for channel101)

Thanks! Glad you like HOC.. it might have a chance to live on after all... can't get into details on that just yet. thanks for the warm welcome.

Are there any other good recources for animation teams?

As you already know, I am looking for good, fast, reliable animation teams. but the CATCH is that we have a shit budget. We can pay decent, but this is best suited for talented people who want a break and are looking to get their foot in the door and start doing contracted animation work. this is not as good for seasoned animation houses who charge 20,000 bucks a minute.

Does anyone know of any other forums or places so I can cast a wider net? or anyone here interested? the most important thing is that they have to be reliable, and turn out decent looking stuff on time. the animation ranges from REALLY simple, to somewhat detailed and articulate. Think wonder showzen/ stankervision

Are you looking for individuals to work on the team? Where would the work take place at? I am a student of animation here in Seattle, so i would need something that is in my area.

You should consider listing your project in the online Animation Co-op database:
http://www.animationcoop.org/coop_database.htm

Notification will go out to our exclusive mailing list of over 700 independent artists and industry professionals, many of whom do not necessarily frequent the Co-op discussion forum. :)

My studio is currently me plus 2 employees, but I am planning on hiring more in the next few months. We specialize in Flash and our rate per minute is about $1,500. I know you don't have a big budget, but how small is it?
Also, I'd be interested in knowing the content of the project as well beforehand.

Flash Layer Exporter

Hi All,

Actually there is an awesome tool to do just that. You can have an unlimited number of layers in Flash. Then choose export, it will export in 3 formats, SWF, Quicktime, and PNG with alpha support. You can select frame ranges, and layers to export to. It even has the ability to change DPI upon export. An awesome tool, go to: http://www.4gsw.com
