Family Guy

Family guy has to be one of the greatest shows ever in my opinon.

I was just wonder if anyone know what program/style its done in?

thanks

I don't know officially, but as far as what I've read, if it's true, Family Guy is and was traditionally animated, originally by Film Roman in its entirety but reading the credits I think now everything after the keys besides post-production gets done overseas. Can anyone verify?

If I remember the season's 1,2 and 3 commentary correctly, it was/is indeed done oversees.

...yes Family Guy kicks @ss!

Definately hand drawn, I drooled over some key drawing at an animation gallery in London a few weeks ago

"check it out, you know it makes sense!" http://miaumau.blogspot.com/

It sounds funny but I think they're pretty damn good, too. Many times when the characters turn, especially Stewie(sp?) the solid drawing on the legs, etc. as you see the clothes turn with the body, are impeccable.

I love the fighting scenes!! Looks a lot like Taekwondo^^

On AM today we were learning about arcs and saw cool footage of a guy doing meditative martial arts. He was totally stilted except one extremity at a time would move in this most graceful curve.

The pilot may have been animated domestically, but all TV shows in production are animated overseas.

i can't believe that as a father of two i'm suggesting this but:

watch more tv!

then come back and let us know you're opinion.

I didn't dislike Family Guy but to me it was neither here nor there. Somewhere between Simpsons and South Park. That formual lost its appeal rather quickly for me.

DSB, every show? Every single drawing? I'm asking, by the way, not debating.

Definitely a lot closer to Simpsons than to Suth Park. And Yes, it is a formula to mock the average american family. I guess the whole thing dates back to The flintstones and The Jetsons, but in this new world of soaps, reality shows, etc. the thing became a bit more acid. Simpsons got it up a notch, and then South Park blew the roof, (Actually that formula was so acid that any other attempts had to start back from the Simpsons) Actually I would place F. Guy betweeen Simpsons and Futurama

One of the artists here just came off of storyboarding American Dad. Basically, the storyboarders draw every single keyframe, exactly how it would appear in the show, then send those drawings overseas. Overseas, they photocopy the storyboards and then inbetween them and clean them up.
