How about them acceptances?

Tis the season when the letters of acceptance/decline get sent in the mail. I know the people who got accepted to Calarts already received their letters, and Ringling as well. How did you guys do? Did you get accepted to the college of your dreams or are you just going to have to try again next year?

I probably didn't get accepted to Calarts, since I haven't received a letter yet. I'm pretty sure they send out the accepted letters in the first week of March. I know some people who were accepted have already received their letters, whereas a lot of other people are still in the dark. Sniff...

I'd like to hear how other people did.

Apparently no one on this board got accepted into anywhere good.....

I got into both CalArts and Ringling!

Weew! That's a relief.

Congrats!! I got into Calarts too. Did you get in the experimental program or the character animation program?

I did a search for some of your stuff, helicopterr. If that's you that comes up in those first few Google pages, I can see why they'd wanna nab you right away!

Thanks! Those are mine from a a year back although I did not actually submit those for Calarts - I submitted two of my animated films for the MFA experimental animation program. I wish they had a MFA for the character animation program cuz I heard really good things about it.

I just got rejected by both SVA and RIT in the matter of a week (which explains the large, empty bottle of wine to my right)... the MFA programs that is

so now it's back to the drawing board (literally). I'm not even sure i'm gonna try again next year, i'm sort of lost.

I'm still waiting to hear from Sheridan in Ontario but i believe they lost my application, I'm glad everyone got in to their dreams schools because i'm totally lost. :(

how so -.O

Um...I've gotten accepted into SCAD. Does that not qualify as somewhere good? -_O

grrr...

I formally got my rejection letter from Calarts about a week and a half ago. To be honest, I'm not all that upset. I'm just kind of wishing I had applied for other schools in addition to Calarts, namely Ringling and SVA. Therefore my chances of getting into a quality animation school is higher. Oh well. There is always next year.

Congratulations to those who got accepted to their schools of choice, particularly you Hett, since I know you've really been banking on Ringling.

Mew- I got accepted to Savannah my senior year in high school, but didn't go, because I couldn't afford it, even though they offered me a scholarship. I don't think it's a bad school, it just that schools like Ringling and Calarts have a very extensive list of successful alumni that Savannah seems to lack (although I'm sure they have their share). Judging from this perspective, one could say that it's not as good as the rest. But I believe that you get what you put into your education regardless of the reputation of your school. Some people just put more emphasis on the reputation of the school than anything else.

They also said everyone got into their dream place, and I was waitlisted -- don't take it to heart.

Note that I posted that message BEFORE anyone posted acceptances!!

Experimental. What about you?

Experimental MFA

I already tooted my horn here in another thread, but I'll just add that I got into my "dream school" and it is official that I have a spot reserved at Ringling starting this fall. The next four years are going to be great!:D

Hey wow! I'm excited to see more people who got accepted into Experimental at CalArts. There are only 13 of us you know! Any one going to the April 5 event at CalArts? I might be seeing some of you there!
