I prefer 2D movies but enjoy 3D if the movie is great!

Monster's Inc, etc.

I prefer watching 2D, but I prefer making 3d. :p

But...
2D has had over a hundred years to develop, so it's naturally more sophisticated. 3D is only 20 years old, but it still works better in live action movies than 2D.

what a question!
I was a pure 2d animator until I was forced to realise that I couldn't get a job, well, at least a job that I could feed myself and pay for a house to live, etc, etc. Until 4 years ago to this date, computer were just glorified typing machines to me, from then on I was forced into the dark side and now I work as a 3d character animator...
Just kiddin', I don't think of 3d as being evil! I'm a traditional animator that works with a wacom pen instead of a pencil.
I like 3d when it makes a difference instead of copying reality, films like "Ice Age" and work like this guy's http://pyer.3dvf.net/ make me feel all happy!! But, I'm all 2d at heart...

2-D animation , whether drawn with a pencil on a flat piece of paper or drawn/manipulated on a flat computer screen with various digital tools, is wonderful.

I also very much enjoy 3-D animation such as Wallace and Gromit , Chicken Run, James and the Giant Peach , and Ray Harryhausen's work , among others.

I love good animation of all genres and techniques.

The play's the thing. Is animation being used to portray interesting characters in a good story with engaging visual style/pizazz ? That's the important question.

But if you're asking what animation technique I generally prefer to work in , I will say that I most enjoy hand-drawn animation (pencil and paper) , both doing it and watching it. Something about drawings coming to life is still magic to me .
