now in July there will be two openings for scholarships at my master's course. Right now I can say my career as an animator and researcher/teacher depends on getting this scholarship. If I don't get it, I'll have to go find some dead end job and drop my project and the 10 or 15 movies I have in line to be made. I'd rather die, but it's a fact.
To get one of these scholarships I need to really impress the professors who decide who is going to get them. I'm doing my best and creating a huge amount of material and documents to prove them I'm worthy. I have 3 movies done, and 15 more to go, most of them are already started and only needing some money to get done.
So in this moment of despair I ask all of you friends to help me out. I can use all the recommendation letters I can get. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or long, but anything with some personal data to prove that it was written by real people would help a lot. I just need some sincere comments that would convice the school that my project and my movies are worth being done.
I'm not sure if it can be done by e-mail or if I'd need actual paper letters. In this case I'm willing to pay for all postal expenses anyone would have.
It would be specially useful to have letters from stablished professionals on the area, such as doctors Tony White, Super Wade, Larry Lauria and Norm Drew. Sorry to be giving names like this, but it's just because all of these friends have already expressed their feelings about my work and it was very inspiring. But, of course, anyone who wishes to help me out will be more than welcome.
I'm talking about infinite gratitude and free drinks for life here... :)
Thank you all very much for the help, you have no idea how much this means to me.
what can I do to help you?
I wqork as an animation director, doing commercials, and working with guys like david daniels and chel white
If you need a recommendation letter, i would not lie , when i would say i saw your movies, and importnat presence on this forum, not just showing your work, but also contributing to the development of young and less young animators!
A letter from me won't mean anything to anyone.... but I wish you the best of luck :)
You show great passion for animation. That should help!
Having worked in many a dead-end job, I can tell you it does make for some great animation material! ;)
But seriously, If the teaching thing doesn't work out, use it as a springboard.
You'll bounce back...that I'm pretty sure of!
Thanks a lot, folks! This means a lot to me.
Right now I'm figuring out how I'm supposed to include the letters on the requisition. As soon as I have the technical details I'll write it back here on the forum.
Where should we send letters?
Time has come at last! I'll be sending my new requisition for a master's scholarship next week!
So any one of you who could send me a quick e-mail supporting me, it's about time. I'll print all these e-mails and include them with my application. I want to show them that I'm serious about my studies and that they are already being applied in the world, with people from all kinds of places.
Thank you all very much, this is really important to me!
i am sure Daniel that you'll get the scholarship. good luck! your work will say everthing about you. cheers!!! :)
Thanks a lot, but keep your fingers crossed :)
That reminds me of an old arab saying:
"Praise the Lord, but keep swimming."
