I need a lot of help PLZ

I am vinay studying animation(2d & 3d) at ANTS(Animation training school) in INDIA,BANGALORE.The prob that i am facing is now i finished my 12th.Now i have 2 options

1: I can join college in advertising and massmedia. But the prob is i cant concentrate on my 2d animation if i go to college.

2 :My teacher suggested me to finish my animation course and join as IB artist and do my degree in correspondence.

I am too much confused. Can some 1 help me??????

Actually I was also searching the animation institute. Can you tell me how is ANTS animation institute for 2D animation ? I am from pune and have planned to shift to bangalore. Please tell me. And one thing about your question is that, 1st make your drawing perfect and then enter in animation. 1st complete your degree. ZYou have lots of time to do animation further.

Close your eyes and try to see yourself 10 years in the future. What will you be doing that will make you proud of yourself?

do a lil more research on seeing what kindda opportunities you have in those majors..

look at the pros and cons.. i'm sure both are great option but research and then decide..

it's a good situation to be in when you have more then one option.. so use it to your advantage :)

advertizing and mass media is a waste..

believe me vinay,
I took the advertizing and public relations management and mass media courses... In Pune India (about 5 years ago)
since then there has not been one place where it is recognized. I usually leave it out of my resume, because it feels like wasted money and one wasted year.
The only thing you should concentrate on doing is your degree (bachelors) if you want a foot hold anywhere.

If you really want to be an animator, pursue it dilligently on your own, buy books, use trial software to get practice on. Get in touch with people in that industry. Do discreet.com recognized courses at their training centers if you want certificates. (3ds max) or try maya courses. 2d courses like Macromedia Flash.

Being from India myself and having made it overseas in California as an animator and Multimedia lead in a Silicon valley company, I have one sincere piece of advice.

Practice, make perfect and build a portfolio of work you are proud of. Your work quality will get you place no degree can.

ok now, enough of my rambling.. I'll get back to my beef burrito and odwalla shake, you get back to your life
best regards
Ash

GIVE ME COAL !! and I shall scrape you a cave drawing !!!
