I love your style dancing carvy, its solid and the faces are well done :)

Everybody's work is rockin'! Keep it up! Here's something that began as a sketch. Right now I'm teaching animation part-time and I did this as a sample of Dialog animation in Flash. It took about a total of 3 hours from sketch, building the character, then to animating. As for the design, I went with the John K. style, light outlines and dark fills. C&C welcome! Cheers

Here is an Acrylic painting by me.
Hard to work on new things when the kids are sick

Sweet little animation, Dan!! I love it. ;)

2-D animation will never die. The invention of photography did not kill painting. Why would animation be any different?

Great work Dan.

Swanka,

Your dad looks like my dad.

Heee hawww great stuff guys. This is turning out to be a kick as thread. Sorry i haven't posted in a while had a lot going on.

Danimation re; the booth at SD. From what my friend told me they like to see a sample of your work, if you 've been there the previous years, a temp sellers permit, application which you can download from the link i posted earlier and good old fashion money. Other than that once they recive everthing you have to wait for them to send you the confirmation of the booth and pack your bags. You got a booth. BTW great skecthes i love the dog.

evandaemon i love that snake post more.

Thj you your sketch has inspired me to do a girl sketch. so here it is.

Great work guys. :)

This is cool here is mine a little late but in none the less.

keep it loose?

How do you guys (and everyone else too!)keep your strokes so loose? My strokes feel tight or?need More practice!Haha, good stuff!Something about someone holding and axe and smiling is just..well ;disturbing! The extra little lines that were part of the scetch but maybe not so finalized (like the sword)make the pics look more interesting to me.Ill post another later unless I pass out (started a new job!)Im beat!

p.s. jchap i sent you a pm about the place you work, check it out if you can.

this has turned out to be a fun thread. nice work everyone.

splat, yes, the robot was done in painter. it was pretty quick... 15 minutes or so, that's why it's so rough. thanks!

swank, I can't speak for everyone else, but when I draw, i tend to work in a process. I start out extremely loose, then begin to fine tune the drawing, laying down a tighter line. I also like to use loose shapes as character layouts when I draw. By the way, i got your PM and sent one back... at least I tried to send one back... not sure if it went through or not. Thanks again!

Here's one from today: Fun with Gouache
:)

I drew this one for my husband.

Don't do nothing because you can't do everything.

By golly!

That would clear a trench out in a second flat!

But I digress...

Did he like it?

Splatman:D

Here is mine for today. This one i tried to take a little bit more time since i was experimenting with the brushes. I'm trying to get the hang of color. Good times.

swankaman i def try to keep the sketch loose except for this situation were i think i overworked it. I def like the method that jchap uses i think i'll give it a try and see what comes out.

Really nice work everybody let's keep this up. :D

Sweet work everyone! Here is a drawing of my guinea pig Felix. As for my process, I work very similar to Chap. I prefer to use an almost dried up brush pen to rough, then build up with markers. Then I toss on the highlights with liquid arcylic and prismacolors. I'm still working on becoming looser with my lines though. Can wait to see more work from everyone! Cheers

I've been following all of your wonderful sketches since this thread started, and it's motivated me to draw again! (I haven't for ages!) So here it goes... Yes I know the hands are naf.

Attachment

I'm a big fan of this thread, too, mustard. I like to see anyone's work, even if they pull it from ancient archives, but ... this is like being let inside the studio to watch you play. it's great.
Is it a sketch if I did it on a tablet? This is yesterday's and I'm posting it just because of mustard's naf hands. Mine are, too. Drat. (i love how these boards clean up my language :) I'm trying (and trying, etc.) to capture a moment in her clapping.

ps. I hope this shows up as a thumbnail because I don't see how to create one manually.
