Is age a barrier?

Is it ever too late to try and begin a career in animation?

I'm 28. Do companies want fresh faced young 'uns or do you think age doesn't really matter? Is it too late to start?

I have a friend of mine who's in school right now with me who is 47, getting his degree in Animation.

I would hate to think 28 is out of the loop...

As with life, the only barriers are the small minds you'll encounter along the way.

i would hire a 28 year old over an 18 year old

personally, the more life experience the better (especially for an animator).

ahem, and if they have family and mortgage commitments, even better, then you have an employee with too much to lose

Amen to all of that, victor...:)

Thanks guys

Well, what a relief. My logic told me that age really shouldn't be a barrier in this industry. That's great to hear your perspective in relation to "stickability" with having a few of life's responsibilities... well there you go: I've got a tick in the box already!...I've got the mortgage!! :D
