After a 2-year hiatus, Scotland’s animation and VFX gathering is back
For the past few yaers before Covid called a two year halt to MOVE, I have had the privilege to be invited to MOVE to teach pitching to the students on students day. MOVE Summit is a treasure trove of speakers and events as well as a market place. I heartily recommend that you check out MOVE SUMMIT and then become part of it.
After a 2-year hiatus, Scotland’s animation and VFX gathering is back - bringing together international creatives, industry leaders, students and educators to Edinburgh on 22nd - 24th February 2023 to celebrate Scotland’s commercial animation & VFX sectors.
Returning to the historic Pleasance Courtyard in Edinburgh we have three days of inspiring talks, workshops, creative reviews, screenings, an exhibition/recruitment fair, tech demos, networking and business development all focussed around the latest and greatest in the international animation and VFX industries. Not to mention our regular ‘Drink & Draw’ and MOVE Late evening events.
The magic of MOVE is in the celebration of each other’s creativity, artistry and technical accomplishments. It’s a great opportunity to hear from world-class studios and discover how the latest projects were made, get insights into how creative challenges were overcome, learn new tricks and tips and see some unique works in progress.
We are developing a stellar lineup with speakers from international studios including Netflix and Cartoon Saloon alongside UK and Scottish studios such as Aardman and Wild Child Animation to name a few. More are being announced along the way…
Building on the previous year’s success we’ll also be hosting our Business at MOVE strand which is a dedicated business programme that brings together independent studios and producers with agencies and industry bodies to explore mutually beneficial opportunities.
Bursaries
We aim to make MOVE Summit as accessible as possible and this year we’re offering 10 bursaries to those for whom the cost is currently a barrier.
The bursary includes a full access ticket and travel up to £150. Priority will be given to those working in or seeking work in the animation industry, and who are currently un/underemployed and experiencing financial hardship. Applications for bursaries can be made via this online form.
MOVE Summit 2023 is made possible thanks to the generous support of our funders and partners: Screen Scotland, Interference Pattern, Wild Child Animation, ScreenSkills, Axis Studios, Eyebolls and ISODESIGN.
