NYC studio Mixtape Club update a Japanese folk tale to stunning effect

Inspired by their shared fascination with myths and stories, the directing duo of Chris Lenox Smith and Jesse Casey at NYC audio-visual creative studio Mixtape Club, team with New York Times best-selling children’s author Adam Gidwitz and New Yorker illustrator R Kikuo Johnson to update a Japanese folk tale.

"The Snow Girl" wraps a multigenerational narrative and timeless themes of respect for nature and individuality into a thoughtfully scripted and beautifully rendered four-minute film.
