Gnomon Shows Off Art From Transformers: War for Cybertron

Gnomon's art gallery shows off Transformers: War for Cybertron. Great looking art featuring Optimus Prime, Megatron and... Zoidberg?

So I headed on down to Hollywood because Gnomon was showing off an art gallery featuring art from Transformers: War for Cybertron. As soon as I get there, I am immediately greeted by techno music, fancy cheeses and Cactus Coolers. Ignoring the guys playing the game on a projected screen and also dodging some of the more “snoody” attendees, I managed to get inside the actual art gallery to check out some of the “purty pictures”.

Some of the game's more gorgeous work was featured on the walls in addition to art from many other niches such as Star Wars, Marvel and Futurama. High Moon Studios' Lead Concept Artist James Daly was also on hand to talk about the art, which he did. Standard fare talk about how the art was made; Maya, zBrush, 3DS Max, etc. However, I was actually taken back a little bit to hear that a lot of the environment work in War for Cybertron was actually done with Google's free version of SketchUp. It was a nice little event all around. However, Gnomon, keep in mind that for future events we would love to see less “snood” and more cheese.
