For my money, Elise Simard is one of the emerging bright lights on the Canadian animation scene. Her works contain misty layer of real and imagined loss and longing. You're never quite sure where you are in Simard's world, but that's okay. You just roll with it, feel it, breathe it in and try not to think on it too much.
