Scotland’s largest animation festival MOVE Summit is launching a dedicated business strand to match independent studios and producers with UK-wide commissioning agencies and industry representatives.
Scotland’s fore-running animation festival launches dedicated business strand to strengthen and bolster Scottish talent throughout the UK industries.
Now in its 4th year, MOVE Summit brings together International animation leaders, practitioners, students and educators for its annual gathering celebrating Scotland’s commercial animation sector, with three days of inspiring talks, workshops, networking sessions and professional development, all focussed around the latest and greatest in the international animation and vfx industries. For next month’s festival (19-21st February 2020) the programme has been expanded to include a business-led component which includes business 1:1s and recruitment drives by independent studios and production companies. With the presence of UK-wide agencies and commissioners, it will be a prime opportunity for local creative talent to showcase their work and pitch to agencies they might not otherwise have the opportunity to. From the agency and commissioning side, it will be a great opportunity to scope out potential creative suppliers and collaborators currently leading the way in Scotland.
The 1:1 meetings will have representatives from commissioners of children's animation, creative agencies, funding bodies, award-winning studios and development agencies. The sessions are available to delegates of the industry days of MOVE Summit and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Contributors include: Netflix, BBC (Children’s Animation & Puppetry
and BBC Childrens, Scotland & N.I), BFI, Blue Zoo, AXIS Studio, Union, PUNK and The&Partnership plus more to be announced soon!
