Dear filmmakers and creative artists,
you want to show your new film or interactive work at DOK Leipzig this fall? The call for entries to our 63rd festival edition is now open!
You are welcome to submit artistic documentaries and animated films of all lengths as well as hybrid films between the two genres. At DOK Leipzig 2020 we present six official competitions, where our main awards, our Golden and Silver Doves, and several further prizes will be awarded. New this year are an International Competition for Long Animated Films and an Audience Competition. Additionally, DOK Leipzig is a qualifying festival for the Academy Awards© and the European Film Awards.
For our interactive exhibition DOK Neuland we are looking for innovative new media works, such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality or Mixed Reality projects, 360° films, apps and media art. Each year, DOK Neuland presents about 12 selected works during the festival week.
How do I submit my film or interactive work?
You can now submit your film or work online via our relaunched website, which we've given a fresh, new look for the start of submissions.
What are the submission criteria?
To be considered for the competition sections, it is important that the production year of your film is either 2019 or 2020. In addition, your film should not have been shown publicly before October 2019 and it needs to celebrate at least a German premiere at DOK Leipzig.
For DOK Neuland interactive works from previous years are eligible for submission, but works from 2019 and 2020 may be preferred.
