Nine And A Half Questions with June Foray

The legendary June Foray... Will Ryan has just enough time to ask her nine and a half succinct questions before she is off on her busy, busy schedule.

In a world of low-fat foods and California cuisine, people are demanding less for their money. And they're willing to pay more for it! Ever one step ahead of the curve, Will Ryan offers you the Nine And A Half Questions interview: lighter and less filling than the mundane Ten Questions concept, but just as intellectually unsatisfying.

Will Ryan: Hi, June. I haven't seen you in three days. What's new?

June Foray: I'm getting organized.

WR: Oh?

JF: I spent most of this afternoon writing a new introduction for my autobiography. It explains the meaning of the title.

WR: Oh, you mean "There's A Horse in My Living Room?"

JF: No, I came up with a new title.

WR: Oh, right, right. You mean, "That Voice! Where Have I Heard That Voice Before?"

JF: Nope, nope. Newer than that one. I just thought of it yesterday.

WR: Great! What's it called?

JF: Guess.

WR: Hmmm . . . I'm flummoxed.

JF: I'll give you a hint. My publisher thinks this new title is much more commercial than the others.

WR: Um. "The Secret Diaries of Mary Astor?"

JF: No.

WR: "How To Make A Million Dollars and Lose Weight By Simply Buying This Book?"

JF: No.

WR: Okay, I give up. What is it?

JF: "Pickup."

WR: "Pickup?"

JF: Uh huh.

WR: Oh, I get it. "Pickup!" You mean -- ?

JF: You got it, Sherlock.

June Foray is currently starring in three series, including the upcoming Judge Granny for Warner Bros. and Elmo Aardvark: Outer Space Detective! for Renegade and Snappytoons, in which she portrays over thirty characters, including Mr. Aardvark's nemesis, the mysterious Salamagrundy.

June has just signed a multi-CD deal with Audible Records, her exclusive pact with Turner/Warner having just expired. "Pickups" is a term used in the voice-over business to describe line readings, which an actor must re-perform, either on the spot or at a later "pickup session." These pickup sessions are usually the result of technical glitches, script changes or a producer's decision to override the director's vision. The amount of money that June has made over the years on pickup sessions alone would pay for a fleet of shiny new pickups.

Emmy-nominated writer/producer Will Ryan is always impressed by shiny new pickups. Only his close friends call him by his given name, videlicet Sherlock.
