The funniest thing that happened to me….
No one gets why this was funny, but one winter when I was a kid my dad, brother and me were walking down a busy high street and my Dad suddenly slipped on the ice and flamboyantly did the splits like a ballet dancer. He was in complete agony, but my brother and I were so paralytic with laughter that it didn’t even occur to us to help pick him up off the ground. It turned out that he’d torn a muscle and his leg never fully recovered so I feel quite bad about it now.
