Nag and Gisele Ansorge
Nag and Gisele Ansorge devoted their entire life to film creation.
They mastered most animation techniques, including sand animation. In
this gallery, we feature some of Nag and Gisele's films, sand images,
as well as etchings and chalk monographs on paper. Read "Animated Films
In Psychiatry" in the May '98 issue of Animation
World Magazine, where Nag relates his experiences working in
animation with mental health patients.
Frédéric
Back
"The Drawings of Frédéric Back" features several
of the original drawings by the world renowned animator animator and
illustrator, including Oscar winners "Crac!" (1981) and "The
Man Who Planted Trees" (1987). In the July 1996 issue of Animation
World Magazine, Frédéric Back is interviewed by William
Moritz in "The Mighty Animator: Frédéric Back."
Walerian Borowczyk
Artist, painter, sculptor, writer, photographer, designer and director,
this prolific Polish creator has authored more than thirty short films
and over a dozen feature films. "Walerian Borowczyk, The Orchestrating
Angel," features over 100 pieces of is work. Some of the images were
produced for the shooting of his films, others, like paintings and photographs,
are not connected to his films.
Richard Condie
Presentation of Richard Condie's work, including The Big Snit, Academy
Award-nominated animated film which has achieved cult status in international
animation circles. Original production cels from The Big Snit are on

Sally Cruikshank
Sally Cruikshank is famous for her wacky, neo-psychedelic films: Fun
on Mars (1971), Quasi at the Quackadero (1975) Make Me
Psychic (1978), Quasi's Cabaret (1970) and Face Like a
Frog (1987). Sally
Cruikshank's catalog features the first commercially-available
home video of, and 55 pieces of original production art from her short
animated films. Complementing these offerings, the AWN Gallery features

David Fine & Alison Snowden

Raimund Krumme
Riamund&'s gallery highlights drawings that Raimund uses as

and the challenges posed by his new project.
Caroline Leaf
Caroline Leaf is an American animator based in Montréal, Canada.
Her specialty is painting on glass directly under the camera. Caroline
Leaf will be awarded the "Life Achievement Award" at the Zagreb
Festival. Caroline Leaf's work will join the ranks of such great animators
as Norman McLaren, Chuck Jones, John Halas, Bob Godfrey and Dusan Vukotic.
Phil Mulloy
A series of 20 drawings from the creator of "The Cowboys" animated
series in the UK.
Priit Pärn
Since making his first film, "Is the Earth Round" in 1977, animator,
illustrator, and artist Priit Pärn has evolved into one of the
most influential animation artists in the world. His films are routinely
invited to animation festivals where they have won several major awards.
AWN's gallery displays 20 drawings by Priit Pärn in conjunction
with the exhibition
of his work presented at the Ottawa 1996 Festival. Priit Pärn's

Bill Plympton
Bill Plympton is known for his oblique, off-center sense of the ridiculous
in everyday life depicted through his ever popular animation. Bill Plympton's

discussed in length in our June

Raoul Servais
Raoul Servais is a pioneering Belgian animator who has broken new
ground in animation with personal triumphs ranging from "Chromophobia"
(1st Prize, Venice 1966) to "Harpya" (Golden Palm award, Cannes 1979).
Servais has the rare skill of being able to apply a different graphic
style to each of his films, exploring a wide range of styles and techniques
while remaining true to his art. Narration and a strong sense of screenplay
mingle with surrealistic, caustic and poetic dreamscapes. Read more

Gianluigi Toccafondo
Gianluigi Toccafondo is an Italian director based in Milan.
He has directed many award-winning films with Simona Mulazzani like
