On Saturday, September 27, in homes across the country, thousands of kids, along with their families and friends, will get a sneak peek at new television series, STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS. On that same day, one boy is getting his own world television premiere event in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

The STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Intergalactic Tour blasts off today in malls around the country. The tour will run eight consecutive weekends, making appearances in eight major cities across the country until it completes its mission on Sunday, November 9.

The tour brings to life both favorite and new characters from the upcoming animated series STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS with interactive activities. STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, the first weekly television series from Lucasfilm Animation, premieres on Cartoon Network Friday, October 3, at 9 p.m. (ET, PT).

LucasArts, Sony Computer Ent. America and Best Buy will commemorate the release of the upcoming videogame STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED with an exclusive launch party, offering eager gamers a chance to celebrate the saga and get their hands on the first copies of the game.

The party, which will be held at the Best Buy store at 1717 Harrison St. in San Francisco on Monday, September 15, will run from 7 p.m. until Midnight and will feature appearances by special guests, including:

LucasArts and Sony Online Ent. have launched the STAR WARS Galaxies Trading Card Game and its first release: "Champions of the Force."

"Champions of the Force" marks the first-ever STAR WARS trading card game offered exclusively online. Available to both current and former STAR WARS Galaxies subscribers, the STAR WARS Galaxies Trading Card Game provides players an entirely new gameplay experience by combining the challenge of a trading card game with the adventures and community of the massively multiplayer game.

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners can now unleash the Force in the comfort of their own homes by downloading the demo of STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED from Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network.

The demo gives players a taste of one of the early levels in the game: the TIE Fighter Construction Facility, under siege by a Jedi General named Rahm Kota. The Secret Apprentice has been sent by Darth Vader to hunt down and destroy the General, but is also told that, in order to remain a secret, he is to leave no witnesses.

The epic battles of the Clone Wars were briefly mentioned back in 1977 in STAR WARS: EPISODE IV -- A NEW HOPE, and now that conflict may end up with more screen time than anything else in the STAR WARS saga. Before a screening of the new 3D animated film STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS at SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles, director Dave Filoni talked about the look of the film, integrating the storyline into the larger saga and the upcoming animated series on Cartoon Network.

Lucasfilm will present an exclusive advance screening of their animated film STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS as part of the new Production Studio Nights at the SIGGRAPH 2008 Computer Animation Festival. Hosted by John Knoll, Visual Effects Supervisor from ILM, the evening will begin with a behind-the-scenes discussion about the film's design and style with the film's director, Dave Filoni.

The advance screening of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS will follow the discussion on Thursday, August 14, at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, California.

ROBOT CHICKEN: STAR WARS, the sequel, has been greenlit, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Just days after earning an Emmy nomination for Best Animated Series, the Adult Swim show is moving forward with Episode II, to air November 16.

"It doesn't even seem real -- getting to make STAR WARS twice!" said ROBOT CHICKEN co-creator Seth Green. Green won an Annie Award for directing the first one, and will helm the sequel. The first ROBOT CHICKEN: STAR WARS special was released to DVD on Tuesday.

The U.S. premiere of the new CG-animated feature film STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS will be held Sunday, Aug. 10, at the Egyptian Theatre, where STAR WARS: EPISODE V THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK debuted 28 years ago.

The historic Egyptian Theatre is also the home of the American Cinematheque, and all proceeds raised from the premiere of Lucasfilm Animation's first theatrical release will benefit the non-profit organization and its efforts to celebrate the moving picture in all of its forms. The Egyptian was also the home of the very first Hollywood movie premiere, in 1922.
