Venerable visual effects and post-production house Universal Images took Best-in-Show honors at the third annual 'D Show'. In a ceremony held December 2 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center, UI was honored for its work on the History Channel's "The Art of War," which received a nomination in the CGI/Animation category. Additionally, Universal Images won The Craft Award for "Battle B.C.," another History Channel presentation.

Second Writer Hired for Fourth Bourne

Universal has tapped Josh Zetumer, the writer of Peter Berg's take on DUNE, to pen the fourth installment in the BOURNE series, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. This will be the second script commissioned for the film. Due to scheduling issues with his directorial debut on THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU, writer George Nolfi had to back away from the project.

Wolfman Gets Bumped to 2010

THE WOLFMAN is getting its fourth release date from Universal, this time to February 12 of 2010, reports VARIETY.

The horror film starring Benicio Del Toro has already moved from Feb. 13 to April 3 and Nov. 6 of this year. It will now serve as counterprogramming to New Line's romantic comedy VALENTINE'S DAY, Summit's drama REMEMBER ME (with Robert Pattinson) and Disney's 3-D re-release of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.

Four studios bid for the rights to the Atari videogame ASTEROIDS and THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER says Universal has won the game. BEDTIME STORIES writer Matthew Lopez will pen the script. Lorenzo di Bonaventura will produce.

The game debuted in 1979 as an arcade title where a triangle spaceship blasted asteroids and flying saucers while trying to avoid smashing into the space debris.

Universal Pictures has purchased the film rights to Larry Doyle's novel GO MUTANTS!, per VARIETY. Doyle is set to write the script and Imagine Ent.'s Brian Grazer will produce.

A teen comedy set in a high school, GO MUTANTS! imagines if all the classic 1950s alien invasion movies came true, and years later, the children of the mutant creatures have assimilated into the school's population.
