Headline News Promotion At Nickelodeon Recreation

Nickelodeon has named John Paul Geurts to the new role of Vice President and Creative Director, Nickelodeon Recreation.

In this role, Geurts will be responsible for overseeing all creative and design development for Nickelodeon's Recreation business segments, including: hotels; theme parks; cruises; and live entertainment.

He will also continue to oversee Nickelodeon Recreation's Design Studio based in Orlando, Florida. The announcement was made by Howard Smith, Executive Vice President, Nickelodeon Recreation, to whom Geurts will continue to report.

Nickelodeon has promoted Mark Taylor to Senior Vice President and General Manager, Nickelodeon Animation Studio.

He will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Nickelodeon's Burbank Animation Studio, the largest producer of television animation in the U.S.

He will report to Brown Johnson, President, Animation and Alison Dexter, Executive Vice President, Production, Nickelodeon and MTVN Kids and Family Group.

Pool parties will never be the same for three Aussie teens who discover their lives are forever intertwined as they face everyday problems with an added twist in the new Nickelodeon live-action, magical mermaid adventure, H2O.

The new half-hour series will kick off with a prime-time, hour-long movie on March 14, at 8 p.m. (all times ET/PT), followed by the series premiere on Sunday, March 16, at 8:30 p.m.

Amid the construction bringing Nickelodeon Universe to life, a 30-foot SpongeBob SquarePants sculpture was installed at the stroke of midnight on Tuesday at the entrance to the new ride, SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge.

Local Minnesota manufacture TivoliToo Inc. created the giant 3D sculpture.

Nickelodeon has tapped the talents of 18-year-old Lily Collins, Phil Collins' daughter, to keep tween viewers up-to-date on trends in entertainment and pop culture, it was announced today by Paula Kaplan, Executive Vice President, Talent and West Coast General Manager, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.

MTV Networks International (MTVNI) and Arab Media Group (AMG), the largest media group in the United Arab Emirates, have announced the upcoming launch of Nickelodeon Arabia. Headline News Nickelodeon Taps Katsky for New Post

Veteran production and development executive Tracy Katsky has been appointed to the newly created post of SVP of development and original programming at Nickelodeon, KIDSCREEN reports. Katsky will oversee all of the station's ongoing live-action and animation program development, live-action series production on the West Coast, and new series development for Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite.

Before joining Nickelodeon, Katsky served as SVP of development for HBO Independent Productions and earlier was SVP of comedy for Fox Broadcasting.

Headline News Tak's Got the Power on Nickelodeon

Nickelodeon is set to debut TAK AND THE POWER OF JUJU, Nicktoon's first CG-animated series produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios. Based on the THQ videogame, two back-to-back half-hour episodes will launch on Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, from 8:00 - 9:00 pm. In support of the launch, Nicktoons Network, Nick's 24-hour animation network, will air the premiere episodes the following day, Saturday, Sept. 1, at 11:00 am. Nickelodeon and BRB Internacional have struck a deal to air animated TV series, ANGUS & CHERYL, across several European and Latin American territories this fall. Nickelodeon has announced the new additions to its lineup at its upfront meetings in New York City.

MAKING FRIENDS is a new Flash series developed from Nickelodeon's TurboNick broadband platform. The series centers on two girls, Charlotte and Vendetta, who are two polar opposites. MAKING FIENDS was created by Amy Winfrey and is based on her popular MAKING FIENDS online films. The network has order six episodes to launch in 2008.
