Daria Headed to DVD in 2010

Cult MTV animated comedy DARIA is coming to DVD in 2010, reports Marty Day of Blast-O-Rama.com.

Day received an early copy of another MTV program, THE STATE and says: "Popped in the first disc, and wouldn't you know it, the DVD starts with an ad promoting DARIA hitting DVD in 2010. I guess they're following one 'couldn’t be done' release with another!"

DARIA was a spinoff of BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD and the show has had only two minor DVD releases: DARIA -- THE MOVIE: IS IT FALL YET? and DARIA -- IS IT COLLEGE YET?. Both debuted in 2002.

Arnold Coming Ba-ack as the Terminator?

In a webcast with the public on Tuesday, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said he would reprise his classic TERMINATOR role in the upcoming fourth movie, reports CNN, but only if he doesn't have to do anything.

ILM is reportedly working to insert the actor-turned-politician's image into TERMINATOR SALVATION. "I made it very clear that I don't have the time to do the movie," he said. "I said that I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together, and so they are working on that right now."

Watchmen Arcade Game Launches

Littleloud's latest Flash game delivery for the upcoming WATCHMEN movie has just gone live at www.minutemenarcade.com.

It’s a web-based 1980s-style arcade game to promote the movie release. The cabinet is stationed inside the Gunga Diner, in 1986, where you can play as the Minutemen and enter your high score onto a global leader board.

The game was made over a six-week period from scratch and all of the assets from the 3D build of the diner through to the character sprites were created in-house.

IDW Debuts Terminator Salvation Movie Prequel #1

In January, IDW Publishing will debut the comicbook prequel to the next TERMINATOR movie, TERMINATOR: SALVATION. The movie is the fourth installment in the big screen contingent of the action series, starring Christian Bale as John Connor and directed by McG. The movie opens in May 2009.

TERMINATOR: SALVATION MOVIE PREQUEL is written by Dara Naraghi (LIFELIKE) with art by Alan Robinson and cover by Nick Runge.

Dark Knight, WALL-E are the People's Choice

THE DARK KNIGHT won for Favorite Movie and WALL-E for Favorite Family Movie at Wednesday's 35th Annual People's Choice Awards, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

THE DARK KNIGHT beat out INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, with four other wins, including Favorite Cast, Superhero, Action Movie and On-Screen Matchup between Christian Bale as Batman and the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. In accepting, Bale said, "On behalf of all of the cast from the movie, thank you very much to the fans. Here's to Heath." (per VARIETY).

Waltzing Away with NSFC Best Picture Prize

U.S. movie critics say the animated documentary WALTZ WITH BASHIR was the best film of 2008, giving it a National Society of Film Critics award.

The LOS ANGELES TIMES reported Sunday the movie from Ari Folman details the Israeli director's struggles with repressed memories that date back to his experience in the 1982 Lebanon War.

The doc beat out HAPPY-GO-LUCKY and WALL-E, among others.

Batman, Indy & Iron Man Battle To Be People's Choice

Who will reign as the People's Choice? Batman, Indy or Iron Man? The nominees for the 35th annual People's Choice Awards were announced Monday.
