EA Delays The Sims 3

Electronic Arts announced that THE SIMS 3, the flagship game from the best-selling PC franchise, THE SIMS will launch across the PC, Mac, iPhone, iPod Touch and mobile devices summer 2009. THE SIMS 3 PC will ship to store shelves worldwide starting June 2, 2009.

Gameloft Wins Mobile Games Agreement for Spider-Man, Iron Man 2

Mobile games developer and publisher Gameloft has entered an exclusive multi-year, multi-product mobile game licensing agreement with Marvel Ent. The agreement starts in 2009 with mobile games based upon the legendary comic book adventures of SPIDER-MAN, as well as a mobile game based upon IRON MAN 2, 2010's sequel to the $570 million worldwide box office smash.

SPIDER-MAN will be Gameloft's first Marvel Comics-based mobile game to be released in 2009 across all major carrier decks. For more information go to www.gameloft.com.

Run For Your Wildlife! Glu Mobile Launches Madagascar 2

Glu Mobile' s MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA, a mobile game based on the DreamWorks Animation film, which opens in U.S. theaters on November 7, 2008, is now out. This is the first title Glu has developed and published with DreamWorks Animation.

"The Glu team has worked hard to bring MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA to life in a mobile game that retains elements of the movie, but has a unique storyline and game mission unto itself," said Jill Braff, SVP of global publishing, Glu.

Crackle Mixes Things Up

Eric Berger, SVP, digital networks, will take over the reins of Crackle, Sony Pictures Entertainment's online video network.

In this role, Berger will oversee content development and programming, marketing and distribution for Crackle.

Eagle Eye Mobile Game Supports Movie

Mobile game developer and publisher Magmic Games, and Paramount Digital Ent., have launched a mobile game version of EAGLE EYE, based on DreamWorks' race-against-time thriller directed by D.J. Caruso and exec-produced by Steven Spielberg starring Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan, Rosario Dawson, Michael Chiklis, Anthony Mackie and Billy Bob Thornton. The game has been designed in parallel with the movie's climactic plot.

Glu Mobile will develop and publish the mobile game to launch in conjunction with the March 2009 film release of MONSTERS VS. ALIENS from DreamWorks Animation.

Gameloft To Develop Mobile Games For iPhone

Gameloft, a leading developer and publisher of games for mobile phones, today confirmed its intention to develop over 15 mobile games built upon Apple's iPhone Software Development Kit (SDK).

Though the SDK was recently released, games will only be available to purchase once the Apple Store -- featuring third party applications that can be downloaded to devices via WiFi or EDGE -- launches in June 2008.
