The Wild Ventures onto Game Boy Advanced

Buena Vista Games Inc. announced Walt Disney Pictures Presents THE WILD for the Game Boy Advance is now available at retail outlets across North America. A videogame adventure that will test kids' animal instincts, THE WILD is inspired by the upcoming animated feature film of the same name from Walt Disney Pictures, which hits theaters on April 14, 2006. The game features Samson the Lion and Benny the squirrel, who must leave their pampered lives and set out on an adventure to save Samson's son, Ryan, who accidentally gets shipped from the New York City Zoo to the wild.

PBS KIDS GO! Channel to Launch October 2006

PBS announced the planned launch of a new 24-hour digital broadcast channel for early elementary school-age children, called the PBS KIDS GO! Channel, in October 2006. The new channel, which follows the success of the PBS KIDS GO! afternoon programming block on PBS member stations, will be entirely devoted to early elementary school kids.

Galli Galli Sim Sim Makes Its Mark In India On Cartoon Network

GALLI GALLI SIM SIM, the localized version of the award-winning children's series SESAME STREET, makes its home in India this year on leading kids' channels Cartoon Network and POGO. Nafisa Ali, chairperson, Children's Film Society, India inaugurated the GALLI GALLI SIM SIM set at Filmcity, Noida.

Joining the four colorful Muppet characters Chamki, Aanchoo, Googly and Boombah, who were unveiled in December, GALLI GALLI SIM SIM residents include human characters representing different genders, regions and religions.

SpongeBob SquarePants Special Nets 8.6 Million Viewers

That ever cheerful talking yellow sponge squeezed out another huge night of ratings with the SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS Lost In Time primetime special, which aired Feb. 20, 2006, at 8 pm on Nick. The half-hour special episode marked the highest-rated program on all TV with kids 2-11 for the year behind the Super Bowl, and the highest-rated broadcast on all of Nickelodeon since 2001. Lost In Time was the highest-rated episode of SPONGEBOB ever with kids, scoring triple digit increases among all demos.

Madagascar Leads Kids' Choice Award Nods

Nickelodeon's 19th Annual Kids' Choice Awards, which will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2006, from 8-9:30 pm ET/PT, has announced this years nominees.

MADAGASCAR topped the list this year, accruing three nominations for favorite animated movie and favorite voices from an animated movie (Chris Rock and Ben Stiller), and ROBOTS received two for favorite animated movie and favorite voice from an animated movie (Robin Williams).

Curious George TV Series In Production For PBS Kids

PBS KIDS has committed to airing 30 half-hour episodes of CURIOUS GEORGE, the animated preschool television series based on the children's classic book. William H. Macy will narrate the series, which is in production by Universal Home Ent. Prods. (UHEP), Imagine Ent. and WGBH Boston and targeted to launch on PBS KIDS in the fall of 2006.

DIC to Provide CBS Saturday Morning Lineup for Fall ‘06

CBS and DIC Ent. will partner to launch an all-new, Saturday morning branded kids programming block, CBSs Secret Saturday Morning Slumber Party, in fall 06.

Ken Olshansky to Tap U.S. for Granada Kids

He will be based in New York and travel frequently to London to work with the teams based there.
