(Chicago, IL) - SIGGRAPH 2009's Emerging Technologies presents innovative technologies and applications in many fields including alternative displays, robotics, input interfaces, gaming, audio, haptics/VR, and experimental sensory experiences.

THE HANGOVER writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore have been tapped to turn Disney's themed amusement park land Tomorrowland into a feature film, according to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to star as test pilot Rip, who gets transported to the future. Lucas and Moore will take a non-retro look at the future for what they describe as "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN in space."

KidsCo Secures First Run Deals for The Future Is Wild And DinoSquad

KidsCo, the international children's channel owned by media companies NBC Universal, Cookie Jar Group and Corus Ent. has secured the broadcast rights to two animated series: DINOSQUAD and THE FUTURE IS WILD. The agreement will see these shows airing on KidsCo for the first time ever.

KidsCo's agreement with Cookie Jar for the broadcast rights to the action-adventure series DINOSQUAD, will see the channel airing the 26 x 22 minute series across all its global feeds on an exclusive basis (excluding Turkey, South Africa and Bulgaria).

5 Centimeters Measures Up at Future Fest

Makoto Shinkai's BYOUSOKU 5 CENTIMETERS ("5 Centimeters per Second: A Chain of Short Stories about their Distance") has won the Lancia Platinum Grand Prize at the 2008 Future Film Festivasl in Bologna, Italy. In selecting the film, the judges cited its "ability of combininig poetry, art and technical skills with animation and new technologies, a touching and deep-rooted story and a model direction. Every element of the movie, from the screenplay to the editing, is realized with great professionalism and inspiration".
