Headline News Happy Tree Friends TV Series Coming to DVD

On Dec. 5, 2006, the first volume of season one of HAPPY TREE FRIENDS is coming to DVD from BCI, a wholly owned subsidiary of Navarre Corp., and Mondo Media.

"These characters have had a tremendous cult following on the Internet for years, beginning as online shorts in the year 2000," said Jeff Hayne, director of acquisitions, BCI. "Due to their global popularity, Mondo Media started creating half-hour episodes, and fans are thrilled. We're proud to now have the opportunity to present these new episodes on DVD."

Headline News Fox and Hound Return to DVD for 25th Anniversary

Disneys underrated THE FOX AND THE HOUND, about the bittersweet relationship between childhood friends and natural rivals, returns to DVD on Oct. 10, 2006, in honor of the 25th anniversary (Walt Disney Home Ent., $29.99). Directed by Art Stevens, Ted Berman and Richard Rich, the film marked the last collaboration between three of the famed Nine Old Men: Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston and Wolfgang Reitherman. Headline News Five Commissions New Rupert Bear Animation Series From ER

U.K. broadcaster, Five, has commissioned Entertainment Rights Plc. (ER) to produce a new animated RUPERT AND FRIENDS (52x10) to broadcast in fall 2006.

This agreement follows ERs acquisition of the controlling rights to Rupert Bear from Express Newspapers (Express) in October 2005. ER acquired worldwide in perpetuity all audio visual, licensing and merchandising, publishing, live events and new media rights to Rupert Bear and the world of Nutwood.

Disney Channel will broadcast the worldwide television premiere of the animated feature, TROLLZ: BEST FRIENDS FOR LIFE, from DIC Entertainment (DIC), on Aug. 27, 2005, at 2:00 pm with subsequent airdates scheduled September 3 and 29 on Toon Disney.
