Susan Kirch Upped in DisneyToon Creative Affairs

B. Susan Kirch has been promoted to vp, creative affairs for DisneyToon Studios, responsible for developing original scripts and stories as well as sequels to Disney¹s animated successes. Kirch will be working with filmmakers through all stages of production on films that will be distributed by Disneys Buena Vista Home Entertainment and Buena Vista Pictures Distribution¹s theatrical division.

Kirch reports jointly to Sharon Morrill, president of DisneyToon Studios and to Ellen Gurney, svp of creative affairs.

Mike Young Prods./Taffy Promote Fisher & Sullivan

Josh Fisher has been promoted to cp creative affairs at Mike Young Productions (MYP)/Taffy, the Los Angeles- and London-based indie animation house while Maura Sullivan has also been promoted from studio production manager to vp operations at the company.

Fisher who has been with the company for two years He will report to company principals Mike Young, Liz Young and Bill Schultz on upcoming productions, as well as liaise with international network partners.

Fox TV’s Berman Leaving for Paramount

Unexpectedly, Fox Broadcasting Co. entertainment president Gail Berman will ankle her post at network to become a top creative player at Paramount Pictures under newly appointed chairman/ceo Brad Grey, reports the trades. The details of her new post have not been released.

In a statement, the studio said, "Paramount Pictures is in discussions with Gail Berman for a senior creative role at the studio. We hope to conclude the discussions shortly."

Furious FX Blazes Through First Year

Burbank-based Furious FX enters its sophomore year with a wide assortment of their first years work erupting into theaters and onto DVD shelves. Currently in production are MR. AND MRS. SMITH and FEVER PITCH.

The newly ignited facility has completed nearly 500 shots in the last 12 months. Their work is featured in more than 15 high profile films, including THE CHRONICLES OF RIDDICK, SPIDER-MAN 2, SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW, FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX, the upcoming UNDERCLASSMAN, as well as Sundance indie CHRYSTAL starring Billy Bob Thornton.

UVPHACTORY Helps Create Scent of a Robot Music Video

For the design and creation of the SCENT OF A ROBOT music video, the first single off Pete Misers latest CD, CAMOUFLAGE IS RELATIVE, the creative collective UVPHACTORY (UVPH) enjoyed total creative control. The New York-based design and production company created the concept, designed and executed the 3D animation, lensed the live-action footage and completed the offline and online editorial for the 3:30 video that ships in early January to MTV networks, VH1, MuchMusic, Fuse and local access cable shows.

mOcean and CMP/West, two of the Craig Murray Prods. group of companies, will join together in a new Westside Los Angeles facility to be completed in September and operate under the mOcean banner.

Click 3x Provide Graphics Package for AICP Show

Click 3x has completed the graphics package for the 2004 AICP Show, The Art & Technique of the American Television Commercial. The studios creative team, headed by creative director/designer Susan Armstrong, created a 50-second opener for the show as well as more than two-dozen graphics introducing awards categories. Click 3xs show opener follows a young creative as he strolls through an urban landscape and finds inspiration in non-assuming features of the environment like the bricks of a crumbling wall and the plywood barrier of a construction site.
