Toon Boom Concerto Reaches its Finale

Toon Boom Animation announced that Toon Boom Concerto is phased out of the market due to the superior toolset offered by Toon Boom Harmony. Building on Opus and Concertos capabilities, Toon Boom Harmony comes with more advanced features such as morphing, inverse kinematics and glue that enhance the animation production process, whether it is traditional or digital. Harmony also includes a global template library that facilitates the reuse of assets, all set up in an integrated pipeline.

Robotboy Gets Assembled on Toon Boom Opus

Toon Boom Animation announced that its software will be use to complete Alphanims ROBOTBOY and an educational series from Sophia Hilton Foundation of Canada in collaboration with the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute and the Madras Craft Foundation.

Alphanim chose Toon Boom Opus for the production of ROBOTBOY, a series of 52 13-minute episodes. Co-produced with Cartoon Network Europe, France 3 and split among LuxAnimation (Luxemburg), Emation (Korea) and Monigotes (Spain), this traditional animation production is scheduled for primetime broadcast in the U.S.

Toon Boom Animation has released Toon Boom Studio v2.5 for Windows and Mac in French. The company, based in Montreal, a bilingual territory in Canada, said it was only natural to add the French capability to Toon Boom Studio's advanced feature set.

Toon Boom Launches Symphony Worldwide, Studio for PC

Toon Boom Animation has launched the customer release of Toon Boom Studio v2.5 for PC. In addition, Toon Boom has announced the calendar of launch events for the release of Toon Boom Symphony.

Similar to the Mac 2.5 version, Toon Boom Studio for PC now includes a number of features, including:* Support for scanning* Ability to draw in the 3D Sceneplanning space* Improved sound scrubbing* Visualization and manipulation of drawings and keyframes in the Timeline.

Paul Girouard Reups at Toon Boom

Paul Girouard has rejoined Toon Boom Animation as evp, worldwide sales and business development. Girouard previously held that position at Toom Boom until 2000 when he became vp of new business development worldwide for Dream Mechanics.

Toon Boom Studio Version 2.5 for Mac Ready

Toon Boom Animation has launched Toon Boom Studio version 2.5 for Mac OS X, a program used primarily for 2D cartoon animation. Some of the releases new features include sound scrubbing in the Timeline, the ability to draw in Sceneplanning and support for scanning.

Toon Boom's client base ranges from major studios creating Hollywood blockbuster animated films to individual animators creating their first masterpieces.

The upgrade can be purchased online or from a reseller at $ 199.

Basil Brush Headed for Germany

THE BASIL BRUSH SHOW has been sold to German public service broadcaster ZDF. This deal coincides with Basil's first ever Christmas music single, the double A-side Boom Boom and Christmas Slide that will be released on Dec. 15, 2003 in Germany. The songs will be released in the U.K. on Dec. 8. The 16-year-old singing sensation, India Beau, performs on Boom Boom with Basil. The series will also air on the top rated children's digital channel KIKA, starting fall 2004.

Vogelesang Takes Over Toon Boom Technologies

COO Joan Vogelesang has been appointed president of Toon Boom Technologies Inc., replacing Jacques Bilodeau who has left the company. She now takes complete charge of the company's direction and will continue to spearhead sales, marketing and operations, according to Hubert Manseau, chairman of board. Regarding Bilodeu's departure, Manseau said, "The Board of Directors would like to thank Mr. Bilodeau for his past contributions at Toon Boom Technologies and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."

Toon Boom Technologies Inc. has released the final version of its 2D animation application Toon Boom Studio v.1.2.1 for Mac OS X v.10.2. Toon Boom has released an upgrade to their Toon Boom Studio 2D animation solution for the Web. Like Version 1, the Toon Boom Studio V2 camera tool allows the user to approach the project cinematically, choreographing a production within the computer in a virtual 3D environment. Toon Boom Technologies has launched Toon Boom Studio version 1.2 optimized for Mac OS X version 10.1. For this release, Toon Boom Studio was re-tooled so that it can be localized for an international audience following the release of Toon Boom Studio v1.2j for the Japanese market in March 2002. Toon Boom Technologies Toon Boom Studio version 1.1 optimized for Mac OS X version 10.1 is now available. Developed by the Software MacKiev Company, this upgrade release includes new features, including export to iMovie projects, as well as a number of Aqua user interface improvements. New output options open up at least two new opportunities for iMovie users. Toon Boom Studio 1.1 For Mac OS X Released

The beta release of Toon Boom Studio 1.1 for Mac OS X is now available. The latest version of Toon Boom Technologies 2D desktop application can now export animations as iMovie projects or add them to existing iMovie projects. This release also simplifies the workflow required to create an animated movie using Toon Boom Studio to draw and animate personalized characters and objects. The final release of Toon Boom Studio 1.1 will be available at the end of January 2002.

Toon Boom Studio Supports Mac OS X Version 10.1

Toon Boom Technologies Inc., has released Toon Boom Studio for Mac OS X Version 10.1. Toon Boom has optimized the performance of its software to fit to Apple's OS X upgrade. The free beta update installer, available for download at www.toonboomstudio.com, provides users with Toon Boom Studio's complete desktop application for Web productions. Based on feedback from participants, the beta update for Mac OS X Version 10.1 will be released in November and will be free for licensees of Toon Boom Studio.
