MoCCA Hosts NOW THEN Online Comic Exhibit

The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art is hosting its second online exhibit titled, NOW THEN. The theme of the exhibit is -- what did professional comic artists draw like when they were 12 years old?

Comic artist Dave Bamundo had the idea for an exhibit that featured comic artists current work, compared to something they had done as a child. This idea was combined with Robert Zimmermans idea to poll professional comic artists, asking who their favorites in the business were. The top 25 artists current and childhood are displayed in the exhibit.

A new creative talent network for 2D and 3D artists has hung its shingle on the worldwide Web, The Creative Talent Network (CTN), the first online portfolio community for the film, game and video industries.

With large film studios downsizing in 2001, combined with the increasing amount of outsourcing in the film industry, it became obvious to the founders of The Creative Talent Network that an online community was the next environment where these and other professionals could work and stay connected, said Tina Price, one of the founders.

MPSE Adds Foley Artists to Membership Category

The Motion Picture Sound Editors board of directors has voted to create a new category of membership for foley artists. The MPSE is dedicated to improving recognition of its members by educating the entertainment community as to the artistic merit of sound editing and related arts.
