Reelworks Creates Pinny For Let's Bowl. Reelworks

Animation Studio has created several animated segments for the new comedic series, LET'S BOWL, which began airing August 19, 2001 on Comedy Central. The segments were created using USAnimation and feature a bowling pin character created by Realworks named "Pinny." The program's producers approached Reelworks in the early stages of development about the show's concept: The airing and resolving of personal grievances at a bowling alley.

The New York Animation Festival is a biennial international festival of film, video and digital animation. The 2001 festival will focus on independently produced short works. New to this year's festival will be panel discussions on topics such as creating animation for TV and the Web, creating animation for wireless devices, syndicating animation on the Web and digital animation tools. The New York Animation Festival is a project of Perimeter Media + Culture Projects, a non-profit cultural organization in New York City.

All About Buzzco Associates!

"(it was...) Nothing At All" has gotten into more festivals. The film was shown in Bristol, Hong Kong, Schemi d'Amore, Palm Springs and the New York Animation Festival. And Brazils Anima Mundi has asked for it to be included in their permanent touring collection. "InBetweening America," Candy Kugels homage to Saul Steinberg, was also shown in Palm Springs and at the World Animation Festival in Los Angeles, and the New York Film Festival will present it on October 5 and 6 paired with "The Royal Tennenbaums." Buzzco has also done on-air promotion for Nick Jr.

Wild Brain Hires Animation Director Denis Morella

Independent animation studio Wild Brain, Inc., has hired veteran animation director/designer Denis Morella. Prior to joining Wild Brain, Morella worked with Curious Pictures in San Francisco developing several pieces for Cartoon Network entitled ANIMATE YOUR WORLD, which won the "Best Animated Campaign" award at the World Animation Celebration. Morella also created and directed a 7-minute short for Cartoon Network called PRICKLES THE CACTUS. Highlights of commercial work include the design and direction of a stop-motion animation campaign for Best Buy and spots for Pringles, GTE and CBS.

Camp Chaos Webtoons Coming To DVD

In response to the success of the DVD short-film collection "Best of the Web," Multimedia 2000 (M-2K) has announced the release of a follow-up DVD, "Best of the Web, Volume 2." The new installment will highlight the work of CampChaos.com. The 75-minute DVD will feature episodes of NAPSTER BAD and SAFARI KINGDOM as well as the U.S. election parody FLORI-DUH. "Most of these cartoon shorts were originally developed specifically for the Web, using Macromedia's animation software, Flash," said CampChaos' Bob Cesca.
