Vision

Jury's decision:
This film receives the award for its unpretentious lightness and the transparent

We are happy that the filmmaker has pursued the tradition of the abstract
film in such a fresh way.
The Landesgirokasse Foundation Award in the amount of DM 3,000 for the
best student film goes to :
Ugly Head
by Neil Webber
The Young Animation Jury has chosen Ugly Head, because it is clearly demonstrated
that a 'young head' made this film. And because the images remain in the
viewer's mind, that is still remembered even after having seen many films.
Ugly Head is expressive, direct, energetic, and funny.
The Young Animation Jury would like to give special mention
to Niko Meulemans for "Het Musuem", because it is inventive, light,
and funny.

This film surprises with a ridiculous word and image joke, which amuses
the viewer by disappointing his expectation in a pleasant manner.
The Jury Award in the amount of DM 1,000 goes to:

Jury's decision:
The jury values the humorous pleading of this film in that is breaks of

This is emphasized by the fact that it is achieved using very simple means.
The International Mercedes Benz Promotion Award in the amount of DM 40,000

Wir lebten im Gras (we lived in Grass)

The award goes in equal parts to
Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave
Director: Nick Park
Pro Lubov y Mukhu (About Love and Fly)
by Andrej Ushakov, Russia
The awarding for Wallace and Gromit- "A close shave":
The Pro Sieben Jury would like to honour the film which ahs fullfilled the
given criteria and has managed the difficult split between high artistic
ambition and widespread public appeal with a unique elegance.
The jury finds it especially remarkable that the artists were not only able
to keep up the level of the past two Wallace & Gromit films, but even
managed to surpass it.
The awarding for "Pro Lubov Y Mukhu"- About Love and Fly"
by Andrej Ushakov:
The Pro Sieben jury would like to encourage the still young artists to continue
his promising work with this award.
It is a challenge to set moods such as melancholy and boredom on the scene
in an exciting and funny manner.
This film manages to voice a unity through its atmosphere, the usage of
comedy and music, and the choice of its visual methods but does not forget
to tell the story:
A short grotesque melodrama for a man, a dog, and a fly.
