Seit 1987 veranstaltet der Österreichische Rundfunk den Prix Ars Electronica als internationalen Wettbewerb für hervorragende Leistungen im Feld kreativer Computergestaltung. 1995 wird der Prix Ars Electronica für Computeranimation, Musik, Interaktive Kunst - und erstmals - für World Wide Web ausgeschrieben. Dieses Video zeigt die besten Computeranimationen aus insgesamt 200 eingereichten Bändern, die von einer internationalen Fachjury (Mark Dippé, Sally Rosenthal, Peter Kogler und Johnny H. Horn) ausgewählt wurden und sowohl Trends der aktuellen Situation als auch das Wettbewerbsspektrum widerspiegeln.

The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation has staged the international competition for excellent efforts in the field of creative computer animation, ´Prix Ars Electronica´, since 1987. The Prix Ars Electronica gives awards for computer animation, music, interactive art - and for the first time - the World Wide Web. This video shows the best computer animations from approximately 200 entries, which were selected by an international jury (Mark Dippé, Sally Rosenthal, Peter Kogler, and Johnny H. Horn), and demonstrate trends of the current day, as well as give a taste of the competitive spectrum.
