DIAF, ASIFA Deutschland und Gesellschaft zur Förderung des deutschen Animationsfilmes e.V.

Die drei Organisationen haben sich zum Ziel gesetzt, den deutschen Animationsfilm
zu unterstützen. Über Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten der Organisationen soll diese Präsentation Auskunft geben:

Deutsches Institut für Animationsfilm e.V.
Das DIAF baut auf der Tradition des DEFA-Studios für Trickfilme auf und wurde im November 1993 in Dresden gegründet. Die Arbeit des DIAF e.V. umfaßt vor allem folgende Bereiche:
Ausbau des institutseigenen Filmarchivs, das aus dem Kino-Filmstock des DEFA-Trickfilmstudios hervorging, Inventarisierung und Komplettierung des DEFA-Fundus',
filmwissenschaftliche und kulturgeschichtliche Aufarbeitung der 35 Jahre DEFA-Trickfilm, Aufbau einer Fachbibliothek, Aufbau einer Datenbank, Symposien und Workshops zum deutschen Animationsfilm, Ausbau der Kontakte zu fachspezifischen Hochschulen und zur internationalen Animationsfilmszene mit dem Schwerpunkt Osteuropa.

ASIFA Deutschland/Gesellschaft zur Förderung des deutschen Animationsfilmes e.V.
Die ASIFA wurde als Interessenvertretung für unabhängig-künstlerisch arbeitende Animationsfilmer 1960 in Annecy/Frankreich gegründet. Es existieren 25 nationale Gruppen. Mitglieder der ASIFA Deutschland erhalten - wie auch die Mitglieder der Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Animationsfilmes - die Vereinszeitschrift "Rundbrief".
Das ASIFA Archiv hat sich mit einem Bestand von ca. 700 Filmen zur wohl bedeutendsten Sammlung von Animationsfilmen in Europa entwickelt. Die Gesellschaft zur Förderung des deutschen Animationsfilmes widmet sich besonders der Förderung von Projekten und Vorhaben, die die Entwicklung des deutschen Animationsfilmes und seine Stellung im internationalen Kulturaustausch betreffen.

Die Organisationen haben ihren Sitz in Dresden.

DIAF, ASIFA Germany, and Organization for the Support of Animated Film in Germany

The three organisations have set as a goal the support of animated film in Germany. This presentation shall inform about the differences and similarities of these organizations:

German Institute of Animated Film (DIAF)
The DIAF builds on the tradition of the DEFA-Studios for Animated Films and was founded in Dresden in November 1993. The work of the DIAF e.V. encompasses above all the following areas:
The building-up of the institute´s own film archive, which developed out of the Cinema Filmstock of the DEFA Animated Film Studio, inventory and completion of the DEFA-Fund, filmstudies and cultural history reappraisal of 35 years of DEFA-Animated Film, development of a field library, development of a data-bank, symposia and workshops on German animated films, the building- up of contacts with subject-specific schools and with the international scene of animated film, with a concentration on Eastern Europe.

ASIFA Germany/Organization for the Support of Animated Film in Germany
The ASIFA was founded in Annecy/France in 1960, in order to represent the interests of the working independent/artistic animated Filmmaker. There exist 25 national groups. Members of ASIFA Germany receive - as well as members of the Foundation for the Support of Animated Film - the Society magazine "Rundbrief". The ASIFA Archive has become the most significant collection of animated films in Europe, consisting of approx. 700 films. The Organization for the Support of Animated Film in Germany devotes itself especially to the support of projects and plans which concern the development of the German animated film and its place in the international cultural exchange.

The organizations have their seat in Dresden.
