Rick Feldman to Step Down as NATPE CEO

Rick Feldman, who has served as President and CEO of NATPE for the past nine years will segue, as planned, from his post at the end of his contract on April 30 into a three-year consultancy with the organization. NATPE has retained Korn Ferry to administer an executive search to select a new operating chief for NATPE.

VES Show Offered at NATPE

Homerun Ent., for the first time, is offering The Visual Effects Society's one-hour televised awards special at NATPE, reports C21MEDIA. The awards show, held to highlight the best in visual effects in film, TV, animation, commercials and videogames, is being offered for international broadcast after February 26, 2009.

The show will be held in Hollywood on February 21.

Imira Ent. heads to NATPE with a raft of deals already in place for LOLA & VIRGINIA and VITAMINIX with U.S. and Latin American broadcasters.

Imira's hit animated series LOLA & VIRGINIA (52x12) has scored further deals with Canal Once in Mexico following Brazil's SBT renewal of the show. The Brazilian broadcaster has also picked up licensing and merchandising rights with New Star, taking home entertainment rights for the territory, and Quality Films picking up the home entertainment rights for Chile. Amberwood's RollBots is heading to Latin America

Televix Ent. has acquired the Latin American Broadcast & Home Video rights for Amberwood Ent.'s ROLLBOTS.

The 26x30 CGI animated series will premiere both on YTV in Canada and the CW4Kids in the U.S. this February 2009. The series is currently being placed across Europe as well.

Televix will be presenting the series to the regional broadcasters in Latin America at NATPE 2009.

Agbe-Davies Named Kabillion Director of Programming/Development

Kabillion, the multi-platform kids' entertainment program service, today announced that Rebecca Agbe-Davies has been appointed Director of Programming and Development. Agbe-Davies will also be part of Kabillion's first-ever contingent to attend the NATPE Conference in Las Vegas beginning Jan. 28.

Pitt Named CN VP

Adina Pitt has been named vice president, content acquisitions and co-productions for Cartoon Network and Boomerang, it was announced today. In her new role, Pitt will be responsible for identifying, negotiating and acquiring pre-produced series, specials, movies and short-form product that fit the Cartoon Network and Boomerang brands for exposure on all platforms. She'll continue to oversee those programs once they have been acquired and positioned at each of the networks.
