Three high-profile promotional partners have joined with Paramount Pictures and previously announced partner LG Electronics to publicize Marvel Studio's upcoming IRON MAN, reports KIDSCREEN. Audi will have a sports car featured in the movie, Burger King will mount a QSR promo at locations worldwide, and 7-Eleven will offer IRON MAN Slurpee cups at its 6,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada. More than 100 licensees worldwide have been signed by Marvel. The film is scheduled for release in the U.S. on May 2.

Olivia Wilde, who has had roles in ALPHA DOG and TURISTAS, will play Jack Black's love interest in Harold Ramis' biblical comedy YEAR ONE, reports VARIETY. Award-winning 3D animator TJ Galda announces the publication of ADVANCED CHARACTER RIGGING, the first of a new series of books on the subject. The initial book explains how to create muscles and tendons using computer graphics software such as Autodesk's Maya, and is designed to make the techniques as accessible as possible, so that even beginners can create and animate lifelike muscles for their animated characters. In a first for the channel, USA Network is taking a new approach to "pod-busting" with the introduction of THE BIG ADVENTURES OF LITTLE SHAWN AND GUS, a series of animated vignettes based on the hit series PSYCH, created by J.J. Sedelmaier Prods. Each vignette explores the timeless mysteries of childhood through the characters of young Shawn and Gus. The six animations range in length from 50 seconds to two minutes. USA will unveil a new adventure in the second break of every episode of PSYCH beginning Friday, Jan. 11 at 10:00 pm PCT when the show returns with new episodes.

USA has pulled the plug on its veteran sci-fi series THE DEAD ZONE and THE 4400, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Both shows are credited with having created new life for original programming on the network. DEAD ZONE, based on Stephen King's book, debuted in 2002, breaking the record for a series premiere on basic cable with 6.4 million viewers. Two years later, the debut of THE 4400 broke the record again with 7.4 million viewers.
