- Speaking For Zimself: A Conversation With Jhonen VasquezSo I met this guy in college, and he asked me if I had seen Invader Zim. I just stared blankly, and said "no, why?" Well, he had a plethora of episodes downloaded on his computer. I watched a few, and got hooked. Hook, line, and anvil. They were great!! Of course I was disturbed, but I chuckled like a maniac every time. Organs was by far the most detestable work of genius I had ever seen. However, my addiciton to Zim bled into other areas of Vasquez's work. This past summer I was sitting around, musing about my life and how slow things get in the summer when a friend dropped JTHM in my lap. Talk about a God send. I found myself liking Johnny, against all reason, and agreeing with the mundane stupidity of our society. However, I read SQUEE! and when I came to Wobbly Headed Bob, and latched on to his ravings about superiority and supreme intelect, it hit me like a sledgehammer to the cranium: he was a moron. He only thought he was superior, just like Zim. He was self-sabatoging and infectiously unhappy. Good intentions, but the wires got scrambled. Then I laughed, and laughed. Cause you kinda like the creepy, crawly, depraved imaginings in ink laid out beofre you. All I can say is, keep it coming, and let those good heads roll!By:Bunny Norton (not verified)
- Big Idea Productions: A Success Story Anyone Can Believe InVeggieTales and 3-2-1 Penguins are the best things to happen to entertainment for as long as I can remember! It is really nice to watch something that has some real quality to it. The humor really is funny, the music is cool and cute, and my kids learn a lesson while thoroughly enjoying themselves.By:Laurie Callahan (not verified)
- Big Idea Productions: A Success Story Anyone Can Believe InI think its sad to think Disney is talking bad about Big Idea!!!!! Disney is supposed to stand for family values and I for one am a huge fan of the Veggietale Films. Keep up the good work Phil Vischer and Crew!!!By:John Wheatley (not verified)

- Software Piracy Sails Despite Rough Seas AheadAs a programmer who has had his work stolen, I sympathize with the software industry. Right now, a handful of people are making their livings selling software that I wrote. I ran into this article while researching options to simply get them to pay me a few months wages. Because I can't afford a lawyer, they've been thumbing their noses at me for years. By paying top dollar for the tools I NEED, I know that the providers will be able to improve and keep those tools up to date. For things I can live without, open source tools are out there, and getting better all the time. I would rather treat the world the way I would ask to be treated.By:Charles Cunningham (not verified)

- Career Coach: Don't Delay Your DreamsThis article really hit home for me. Hello, My name is Tavares Bowens I am working in insurance right now. I feel blessed that I have a Job, but this is not something that I want to do. I want to have a career in animation but I have a hard time finding companies that will hire me because I don't have the experience that they are looking for. I feel that I am stuck, because I need that experience so that I can have a better chance at landing employment in this field. I began attending the International Academy of Design & Technology in hopes of fufilling my dreams of obtaining a degree in Animation. Well, I was lead to believe that the school had an animation program. Come to find out after 3 quarters of attending there, they do not. I am so hurt and frustrated right now. I am willing to pursue the steps necessary to help me reach my goals, even if that means working where ever an animation studio needs help. I feel a sense of urgency to follow my dreams and share my ideas with the world. I was very touched by Mrs. Thompson's article about following your dreams. I fully intend to do so from here on out. "How can one truly reach the highest of heights, if they have not experienced the lowest of lows" I had my share of downs in life, now I am expecting and working hard for the uprising of a new perspective of fufilling my dreams. Any suggestions you have such as, what can I do to gain the necessary expierience to achieve my goals. Thank you for your time, my email address is WonderBoy@aol.com Sincerly, Tavares BowensBy:Tavares Bowens (not verified)
- The Animation SceneDear madam, Me and my fellow employee read all the explanations given for creting a scene. We are very thrilled by reading the valuble information given. We wish to learn more about you. Regards, a.s.krishna swamy Comment: It could be better when you explain more on feature film making(animation) in a separate way rather than mixing it. Because we personally have handled making of serial animation for millimges france, but we are venturing into feature film for India.By:krishna swamy (not verified)

- The Animation Pimp: “…And Never Die…and Never Die.”Hey Chris, I miss Entwhistle a lot too, and I understand what you mean. I was a nervous wreck when Joey Ramone died too, and nobody could understand either. But when Princess Diana died, oh, everybody had to cry... because she was so pretty...By:Daniel Werneck (not verified)
- The Animation Pimp: “…And Never Die…and Never Die.”You can view images of the true aftermath of the Gulf war...but ya gotta hunt for 'em. A photojournalist took a tankload of "never see it on CNN" images and managed to get them unmolested out of the country. It catalogues some of the stuff you never saw during America's most 'popular' war...like the Army engineers filling in trenches with Iraqi soldiers still in 'em, fun stuff like that. The Bush family would not approve. I'll attempt to find the name and author, if you wish. As for cartoons that show the actual aftermath of violence, I'll ape some of the others in the comments list and look to the east. Harmony Gold's Robotech series, specifically the first season, had plenty o' neato-keen alien-fighting action. But it had some backbone, too...several major characters are killed in action suddenly (such is the fortunes of war, even in toons), and their deaths affect all around them for the entirety of the story. Death has consequences...whatta concept. Oh, and Peace, baby.By:Neil LaPointe (not verified)
- Winky Dink Returns!Harry Prichett was a very good friend of mine and I miss him dearly. It's great to see Winky Dink growing in peoples's awareness again and the website looks great. One problem... Harry's name is Prichett, not Prichard. There was only one Winky and there was only one Harry. They're both irreplaceable and inimitable. Tom BowlerBy:tomasrugha@rcn.com Bowler (not verified)
- The Animation Pimp: “…And Never Die…and Never Die.”Thank you for understanding that concerned parents are adults with 2 hands who know where the off switch is located & that further cencorship is unnecessary. My husband who collects some comics, has derived 2 laws on comic book deaths, 1) unless you have them burned, diced & sliced or exploded body in front of you [s]he it ain't dead, yet; 2) rule 1 dosen't always apply, always watch your back, just in case, we found with a litte unscientific research this also applies to most soap operas.By:Pat Taylor (not verified)
- The Animation Pimp: “…And Never Die…and Never Die.”Ok what is the exact problem with victimless violence ? That in year's of J.I. Joe not one casualtywas ever reported. Is it some imagined responsibility we as keeper's of the comunal media have to account for the consiquenses of any displaid voilence ? What un varnished erogance . We did not make violence . infaact countre's thie's day's with limited acses to media seem to be the most voilent. Is your problem that the sadness of deth is not being conveid to you by J.I.Joe ? Im glad that it isnt , and this is coming from a child raised bye TV , A person should not have that personal a relasionship with media . Have some choise experianses with is in the Techer , mother secret lover capasity . But to have it generate rlationship's with us and then deside when to terminate thow's relasionship's . That's too much . In a world of near plural medication's do we realy nead to turn .the infinatly portenchious event of death into just another cheap thrill ? Last may I sujest that maby your problem is not wit violence but with the fact that it confrunt's you with your own mortality . I personaly can relate I have spent ten's if not hundred's of doller's in this town lobbing that all traces of old people should be removed from HollyWood Media for the exact same mortality reason's . I will not go into my many sucses's and many falur's at this time I will simply leave with the emortal word's of Jean Luck Picard when I say " Time is not a hunter it is a freind that accompanies us on the journy to remind us to lt hat one day it is all going to be over" ( And yes I under stand the Iorny in Picard being both a figure of the midia and old )By:Pigalow Bradley (not verified)
- How To Draw Animation: Shoulder MotionA very good short and sweet explanation of the shoulders. I would simply add also for students and pros alike not to simply comsider the shoulders the same as hips. It is pointed out in animation books how we sometimes counter our balance with shoulders and hips countering each other. I think this has lead to some confusion. Unlike the shoulders which can move independantly while "parented" by the rib cage, the hips are a totally fused rigid axis. We can shrug and move one shoulder but if I lift a leg standing my other leg will counter.By:Gerard de Souza (not verified)

- Speaking For Zimself: A Conversation With Jhonen VasquezI THINK JHONEN IS THE MOST CREATIVE MIND OUT THERE. EVER SINCE I FIRST SAW INVADER ZIM I HAVE BEEN INFLUENCED BY JHONEN. I HAVE ALL OF HIS WORKS. I FEEL BAD ABOUT WHAT NICKELODEON DID TO ZIM. I AM ALSO AN ARTIST AND HOPE TO ONE DAY WORK WITH JHONEN. I DREW ON AND OFF FOR YEARS BUT EVER SINCE I WAS INTRODUCED TO JHONEN BRAND OF THINKING I HAVE DRAWN NON-STOP. I ALSO HAVE A COMIC (BINX) AND WHEN IT GETS UP AND RUNNING I WISH TO WORK WITH JHONEN. I HAVE A WEB PAGE TO VOICE MYSELF. http://hometown.aol.com/invaderzim007/myhomepage/profile.html IF JHONEN EVER WANTED TO GET OTHER OF HIS CREATIONS MADE INTO A CARTOON I BET THAT CARTOON-NETWORK WOULD DO IT. ALSO, HE SHOULD MAKE HIS WORK INTO MADE FOR TV MOVIES OR HE COULD EVEN THINK ABOUT MAKING HIS STUFF INTO AN ACTUAL BIG SCREEN CARTOON. PLEASE E-MAIL ME BACK.By:ZIM (NICK NAME) GLEESON (not verified)
