Jean François Cote

François began production for this film in 2000, and since then he has completed thousands of incredibly detailed illustrations on 35mm film.
François is currently producing a cameraless animation titled "Visages d'Insomnie," or "Faces of Insomnia." For this film, François is primarily etching into and painting directly onto the film itself. Almost every frame is meticulously rendered as a different face, so the animation shifts and pulsates, creating an insistent and irresistible energy.
