QAS is hiring Two summer positions

EVENT COORDINATOR and SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM COORDIANTOR- please scroll down for details!

Event Coordinator

QAS requires assistance this summer organizing special events and programming opportunities.

Employment period: June - August, 2004
Wage: $10.00/hr @ 32.5 hr/week

Duties include:

  • organize events for QAS 04/05 programming
  • facilitate promotion of QAS events
  • research and plan events for QAS 20th Anniversary and International Animation Day
  • contact organizations to develop partnerships for QAS Chautauqua and youth projects
  • assist with day-to-day activities at QAS

Requirements:

  • enrolled as full-tine student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis during the next academic year
  • the ability to work well independently
  • some experience with event planning
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • the ability to work in a busy team environment
  • good organizational skills
  • an enthusiastic demeanor, good humor, and a sense of fun

Summer Youth Program Coordinator

QAS requires assistance this summer with our Quick Kids and Teen animation camps.

Employment period: June - August, 2004
Wage: $10.00/hr @ 32.5 hr/week

Duties include:

  • working with the Quick Kids Instructor
  • supervising and assisting camp participants, ages 9 - 17
  • assist with classroom preparation and clean-up
  • inventory and ordering of class supplies
  • parent liaison, with the Quick Kids Instructor
  • assist with camp registration and promotion
  • day-to-day activities at QAS as needed

Requirements:

  • enrolled as full-tine student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full
  • time basis during the next academic year
  • a good understanding of basic animation skills
  • the ability to work well with the stated age group
  • some experience with the use of film, video, and computer equipment
  • good oral and written communication skills
  • the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • good organizational skills
  • flexibility with regards to job scheduling
  • an enthusiastic demeanor, good humor, and a sense of fun

Other assets could include:

  • completion or current enrollment in post-secondary arts institution
  • previous experience in youth education
  • first aid certification

    The Quickdraw Animation Society is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2004, be have started an email discussion forum to begin planning our celebrations.
