The Hollywood Reporter writes that Shawn Levy has begun looking for a new project now that development has slowed on the remake of FANTASTIC VOYAGE. Levy is set to meet with Will Smith to see if the guaranteed box office draw will board the sci-fi epic. If a deal can't be made Levy will most likely ankle the project. Fox is not as keen on a huge star in the lead because of the huge salary that would be attached to the big budget vfx film.
The story follows a group of scientists that are shrunk to a microscopic size in order to travel inside the blood stream of a colleague in order to save him.
Lightstorm's James Cameron and Jon Landau are the producers. Fox has a production agreement with Levy’s 21 Laps Ent.
Paul Greengrass (BOURNE IDENTITY) had been courted earlier for the directing job.
