Press Release from VooDooDog
For Nanny McPhee Returns, VooDooDog created a stop frame animated end title sequence for Working Title Films' Nanny McPhee Returns (Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang in the UK). The paper sculptures were designed and animated by VooDooDog to create this fabulous title sequence, which has been selected for competition in the Ottawa animation festival in October.
To make the sequence director Paul Donnellon created the characters and objects in computer, printed them on paper, which were then cut out to be turned into paper sculptures by a team of model makers. These models were then animated in stop motion.
The movie is directed by BAFTA winner Susanna White and starring Academy Award®-Winning Actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson.
For Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, VooDooDog created two in-film animated sequences, the main title and comic book style graphics within the Edgar Wright directed movie Scott Pilgrim Vs The World staring Michael Cera. The Manga style animation sequences directed by VooDooDog were based on Bryan Lee O' Malley's graphics novels and illustrate the flash backs of Ramona V. Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) describing her exes who stand between Scott and true happiness.
For The A Team, VooDooDog recently completed the opening titles for the blockbuster movie The A-Team directed by Joe Carnahan and starring Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Biel and Patrick Wilson.
The motion graphics typography was designed by VooDooDog in London who worked remotely with Carnahan, based in Los Angeles. As well as the main titles VooDooDog designed the character cards, locales and sub-titles.
This is the second time VooDooDog have worked with Carnahan, previously creating the opening and end title sequence for his film Smokin' Aces.
