will be hosting its Annual Houdini Meeting on Aug. 8, 2004 during SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles. This event will bring together Houdini users from around the world to network with their peers, witness the official unveiling of Houdini 7 and catch an exclusive sneak-peak into Houdini's future.
"This year we look forward to showing the Houdini community exciting new features such as advanced character rigging and deformation tools, a streamlined animation workflow designed by animators for animators, a RenderMan shader builder and the new Takes Manager, " said Dr. Paul Salvini, cto at Side Effects Software. "There will also be an early look at our new dynamics architecture that will provide the perfect environment for studios to create more realistic effects and animation in less time."
The meeting will also showcase animation and visual effects created by leading studios such as Digital Domain, Framestore CFC, Rhythm & Hues and Sony Pictures Imageworks. These studios will speak about how Houdini was used in films such as SPIDER-MAN 2, THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS and THUNDERBIRDS.
After the meeting, Side Effects Software and sponsors, 3Dlabs and ATI, will host a reception along with The Houdini Job Fair where participating companies such as Disney Feature Animation, Digital Domain, DNA Prods. and Rhythm & Hues will be recruiting new talent.
