FIELD OF DREAMS writer/director Phil Alden Robinson has been hired to write an untitled heist flick for J.J. Abrams and Paramount, reports HEAT VISION [1]. The film is based on Joshua Davis' WIRED article, “The Untold Story of the World’s Biggest Diamond Heist.”
The story follows the 2003 heist of approximately $100 million worth of diamonds, gold and jewelry from the Antwerp Diamond Center. A team of Italian thieves had to penetrate 10 layers of security to reach the vault.
Abrams will produce through Bad Robot alongside Circle of Confusion.
