Due to public demand, the festival has changed its date: eDIT 14. Filmmaker’s Festival will begin October 30th in Frankfurt am Main.
It has quit the usual late September/early October date due many voices of cinematographers and college professors who complained about the early date being in the “bright” time, ideal for principal photography, respectively the university holidays.
Therefore Ms. Eva Kühne-Hörmann, Hessian Minister for Science and the Arts, as the festival patron will officially open it in a festive gala on the evening of October, 30th.
Rolf Krämer is the festival director, and Co-Director Tom Atkin remains American representative of the festival.
Again, eDIT The Filmmaker’s Festival will take place in the newly renovated and centrally located E-Kinos in Frankfurt am Main and several nearby venues. "The festival in the heart of the city makes it very present and convenient," explains Rolf Krämer. "With all connected so well, the interaction between international guests and locals is further enhanced."
eDIT The Filmmaker's Festival is deepening the partnership with the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE). On occasion of the organization’s Golden Reel Awards, MPSE president Bobbi Banks, eDIT The Filmmaker’s Festival Director Rolf Krämer and Co-Director Tom Atkin agreed to expand their cooperation.
In 2010 MPSE contributed the “Sound of Transformers 2”, presented by Erik Aadahl to eDIT The Filmmaker’s Festival. The presentation’s great public appreciation convinced both organizations to further enhance the partnership.
The ongoing successful co-operation with leading international filmmaker’s organizations ACE (American Cinema Editors) and IMAGO – European Federation of Cinematographers will be continued.
All partners contribute high-end presentations to the festival program.
NB: All members of ACE, IMAGO and MPSE are entitled to 50% rebate on festival-tickets.
