Visual effects shop Eden FX
continues its role as the primary provider of CG work for the syndicated Paramount Television series ENTERPRISE, which launched its third season Sept. 10 at 8:00 pm on UPN. Eden FX will be providing more of its Emmy-Award winning vfx, including two new, entirely computer-generated creatures.
This season's ENTERPRISE takes the show in a new direction with more intense action and vfx. Eden's team has created "a new bad-guy race" called the Xindi, which manifests in five different forms, two of which are CG, insectoid and aquatic. While CG characters have appeared before on STAR TREK, the level of interaction with human characters is new to the show.
In addition, Eden is also contributing to a new network series, a cable TV MOW and a pilot episode. For the new CBS series NAVY NCIS, premiering Sept. 23, starring Mark Harmon, Sasha Alexander, Michael Weatherly, David McCallum and Pauley Perrette, Eden delivered a number of shots featuring a photo-realistic Air Force One, and other work, which included an entirely digital tarmac, cars and people.
For the TNT cable movie WILDER DAYS, starring Peter Falk and Tim Daly, airing Oct. 13, Eden enhanced existing footage to create multiple dream and "story book" sequences.
And for the pilot episode of the Paramount TV series HOMELAND SECURITY, Eden provided numerous visual effects sequences, including all-CG fighter jets and commercial airplanes, exciting battle sequences, and the destruction of a terrorist convoy.
Formed in 2000 by visual effects and post-production notables John Gross and Mark Miller, Eden FX (www.edenfx.com
