TELETOON's Lévesque New EVP at 9 Story Ent.
Former TELETOON exec Madeleine Lévesque has joined 9 Story Ent. as evp of content development.
Lévesque will report to Vince Commisso, president/ceo of 9 Story Ent. Lévesque's responsibilities will include identifying and acquiring new entertainment properties and leading the development effort for all of 9 Story's proprietary properties, from concept to initial production for distribution across all platforms. Among her first projects, Lévesque will oversee the development of 9 Story's current 2D digital animated properties, ALMOST NAKED ANIMALS, BASH BOYS and SUPEREWE.
"Madeleine Lévesque has amassed impressive credits throughout her career and will be a vital contributor to the company's future growth plans," said Commisso. "She is the ideal person to nurture projects from development to delivery and we are thrilled to have her join our 9 Story executive team."
Prior to joining 9 Story, Lévesque was with TELETOON Canada Inc. As director of original productions, she spent the last ten years in charge of all facets of the networks production and development projects spearheading the selection, financing and negotiations for all TELETOON original productions. Lévesque oversaw the production of thousands of hours of award winning television series for kids and adults alike including such recognized animated properties as ANGELA ANACONDA, BRACEFACE, WHAT'S WITH ANDY?, 6TEEN, ATOMIC BETTY and DI-GATA.
From 1986 to 1997, Lévesque was with SDA Prods. Ltd., where she held assistant producer and producer roles. As a producer Lévesque can be credited with producing such notable series as POPULAR MECHANICS FOR KIDS, MAX THE CAT, OMERTA (English version) and SCOOP (English version).
Lévesque is a board member of The Alliance for Children and Television, and a member of the Academy of Canadian Cinéma and Télévision (ACCT) and Femme du Cinéma de la Télévision et Vidéo de Montréal (FCTVM.)
