Houston-based venture capital and private-equity firm Small Ventures has filed suit against Rizvi Traverse Management claiming that the firm misrepresented the viability of the TEKKEN film, reports Deadline.com. The 2010 release earned a meager $967,369 worldwide. Small Ventures invested $10 million into the videogame-inspired film. Rizvi claimed that it would recoup costs in foreign presales, but the film never made it to major international releases. Small Ventures wants damages, restitution and legal fees.
Rizvi co-founders John Giampatropni and Suhail Rizvi were both named in the lawsuit. Rizvi's investors include ICM, Playboy Enterprises and Summit Ent.
